Human Intrusion/Loitering Detection - Best Camera for the Job

Mike, thanks for the response. I should have not used the term AOI because I am using a regular IVS rule. It was my generic term for describing the area inside the blue lines that are drawn for the IVS rule. See the image below from my previous thread...

Human Intrusion/Loitering Detection - Best Camera for the Job

I'm contemplating purchasing a new camera for Human Intrusion/Loitering Detection within a specified Area of Interest (AOI). Below is my previous thread on the topic from about two years ago. The camera currently implemented is IPC-HDW3449H-AS-PV-S3. I have done lots of testing and tried...

New Dahua DMSS Mobile App Problems

jarrow - thanks for your response! It definitely wasn't clear to me which DMSS app to use so I tried the DMSS HD app. Unfortunately, it has all of the same problems that I described in my original post; plus it has the additional restriction of operating in Portrait mode only. During Playback...

New Dahua DMSS Mobile App Problems

Hello ludshed, Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I don't think we are talking about the same version of the app. I'm talking about the version at the Google Play store shown below. The old gDMSS and iDMSS versions are no longer available. DMSS - Apps on Google Play I've uninstalled...

New Dahua DMSS Mobile App Problems

I'm surprised that there isn't already a thread about the new Dahua DMSS mobile app. I recently bought a new Android tablet and subsequently discovered that the gDMSS app is no longer available. While that app wasn't perfect, it worked well for my needs. It is still supported on my Android and...

Dahua nvr5216-16p-4ks2e defaults random camera names after reboot

I have the same Dahua NVR and I can confirm the issue. I noticed it after I upgraded to firmware version V4.001.0000006.1, Build Date: 2021-07-09. Fortunately, I reboot very infrequently so it's just a minor annoyance.

Dahua TiOC 2.0 - Human Detection

For whatever reason there is definitely not any type of Global IVS setup or calibration option for this camera. This is a TiOC 2.0 camera so I assume it is "Improved" and calibration is no longer needed? Obviously, that could be a very bad assumption! See the attached Internet Explorer...

Dahua TiOC 2.0 - Human Detection

Thanks for the suggestion but there is no Global Config option for this camera. I'll try increasing the Contrast. Unfortunately, there's an infinite number of combinations that can be tried with the various settings. I just don't know if changing them has any effect on the Human detection...

Dahua TiOC 2.0 - Human Detection

This is a TiOC 2.0 camera and to the best of my knowledge there is no Calibration function.

Dahua TiOC 2.0 - Human Detection

It's mounted at about 20 feet. Here's my original thread with my planned setup. I ended up mounting it a little lower than planned. Dahua Camera for Loitering Detection? | IP Cam Talk I have found that mounting lower won't work for my application. Due to the viewing angle, it's not possible...

Dahua TiOC 2.0 - Human Detection

I recently purchased an IPC-HDW3449H-AS-PV-S3 (thanks Andy). This is an Active Deterrence camera with a 4MP sensor and a 3.6mm lens. I'm looking for recommendations on how to optimize the camera settings for Human Detection. I don't care about the visual quality of the image since I have other...

    Dahua Camera for Loitering Detection?

Wildcat_1, I really appreciate the detailed response! It sounds like the SD5A425XA-HNR might do the job. I already have an IPC-HFW5231R-ZE mounted on the pole that is used as an overview cam. As described in my original post, the PTZ will be looking downward at the target area. One thing I'm...

    Dahua Camera for Loitering Detection?

I upgraded one of my IPC-HFW5231E-Z5E cameras and can definitely confirm that the referenced firmware upgrade DOES NOT support "Loitering Detection". Based on the response to this thread, it appears to be a feature that very few Users implement? If anyone has any experience with this feature I...

    Dahua Camera for Loitering Detection?

No, the last time I upgraded the cameras was over a year ago. I wonder if anyone can confirm whether the newest version supports Loitering Detection. I can try it myself the next time I get to the lot - maybe I'll get lucky.

    Dahua Camera for Loitering Detection?

The models are IPC-HFW5231R-ZE and IPC-HFW5231E-Z5E. To the best of my knowledge they don't support Loitering Detection.

    Dahua Camera for Loitering Detection?

Hello, I'm looking for feedback from Dahua camera owners that have used Loitering Detection. I'm interested in getting a PTZ that has the feature but would settle for a fixed camera. My current setup consists of 15 Dahua cameras but they are about 3 years old and none of them offer Loitering...

    Dahua NVR PoE Connection Quality

The link quality status appears to be random. See my post in the thread below: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/700ft-long-run-epoe-build.39057/#post-359981 I have since found that it often changes when I cycle power to the NVR or manually disconnect/reconnect the jacks feeding ePoE ports 1 thru...

Dahua NVR IPC Offline Alarm or Video Loss Event?

I have a 16 channel Dahua NVR4216-16P-4KS2E. I want to simulate a cable cut and make sure that I'm notified if it were to occur. I've been trying diligently to generate an IPC Offline Event or Alarm or a Video Loss Event or Alarm. It should be as simple as going to Main Menu -> Camera -> Event...

    700ft long run epoe build

I'll give you my long-winded two cents worth and hopefully it will help. I’ve learned a lot from this site so I’ll pass along what little valid experience I have. I recently “personally” installed about 8,000 feet of cable on a commercial property that I own (yes, a little over 1.5 miles of...

    Perimeter Detection for a Fence

Fastb, I appreciate the reply and the tips. It’s encouraging to hear that you haven’t had any false alerts and that you didn’t need to implement any special measures when installing the sensors. Can I ask how long you have had them installed and operational? I would love to use an electric...

    Perimeter Detection for a Fence

Does anyone here have any experience with Infrared Beam Perimeter detection systems? I need to secure an outdoor fenced area that is 300x600 feet. My thoughts are to use one of the products below: http://www.seco-larm.com/E-964-Q660Q?filter_name=E-964-Q660Q...

    Low Cost Outdoor Camera Pole?

I want to thank everyone again for the feedback! I found a local fence company that supplies longer length Schedule 40 pipe. I need to get about 1,200 feet of fence replaced so I may buy the pipe from them when I get the fence installed. I've been contemplating having the poles serve double...

    Low Cost Outdoor Camera Pole?

I really appreciate the ideas; I’m trying to find a local supplier of Schedule 40 pipe. In my search I came across a fencing company in Texas that sells 24’ long galvanized pipe and it seems like a possible solution. It’s about a $110 per 24’ pole but I need to figure out if I can get it shipped...
