    Mailbox camera.

That looks like it should work. It looks like the lens can be focused. I wonder if it can focus to as short a distance as is in a mailbox.

    Mailbox camera.

I am thinking that I may do something along those lines. Or, I may dig the trench and lay an Ethernet cable and run a POE camera. Any thoughts on a suitable camera for this application? Would an indoor camera be OK? It would be protected from the rain but not from the temperature...

    Mailbox camera.

The mailbox gets some sun, but a lot of shade. It probably gets hot inside; a black metal box in direct sun (at least some of the time).

    Mailbox camera.

My mailbox is about 200 straight line feet from my house, but there are trees obscuring the view.

    Mailbox camera.

I already have a door switch on my mailbox connected by the wire that I mentioned. It operates a doorbell chime in my workshop. The problem is that I may not be in my shop when the mail comes. Then I miss the alert. I was wondering is there is some sort of modem device that could send...

I have seen those, a great idea. I can't see my mailbox from my house.

    Mailbox camera.

My mailbox is metal and so would be a problem with a Wi-Fi antenna inside the box. I would like to have a camera that had an external antenna that I could mount outside the box.

    Mailbox camera.

I would like to install a camera inside my mailbox. I just want to see if I have mail, we don't have a mail theft problem around here. I want to know if I have mail so I don't have to go out in the rain or snow unnecessarily. I was thinking of one of those small cameras that I could install...

    Blue Iris settings issue

When I want to look at what is eating up a lot of space I use a free utility called windirstat. Just google it. I have no association with it I just like it.

IP Cam Talk Custom Community DeepStack Model

I was wondering about that, but I thought who cares about a computer mouse?

IP Cam Talk Custom Community DeepStack Model

I would ask that you keep "mouse". One of the things that I use BI for is to try to find out how mice are getting in my motorhome. I can imagine that a lot of people would use BI for these types of things.

    IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E firmware, odd differences!

I agree. But alas, the model number is not there after I upgraded.

    IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E firmware, odd differences!

I bought 2 IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E cameras from Andy at the same time. They both work OK but I am not done setting them up. However I notice differences here and there in the firmware. The firmware versions are the same but there are differences. Here are the two version pages: Notice that this...

DeepStack Window Open But No Analysis

I must have better mice so I need better traps. Actually, the mouse walked all over the first trap but the second trap got him. Another thing, when i look at the DeepStack tab in BI Status I see nothing. Each of the 3 panes is blank.

DeepStack Window Open But No Analysis

Here are an image and a DAT file. The thing that I am trying to do is use the "Analyze with DeepStack" but it and the other picks are grayed out. Could it be a permissions problem. BI cannot talk to DeepStack even though DeepStack seems to be analyzing the images OK. You can see what I...

DeepStack Window Open But No Analysis

When I go to the "Testing and Tuning" menu it is set to "off" and I cannot turn it on. All of the selections are grayed out. How can I turn it on?

    BI crashes!

I run VirtualBox. I had assumed that the performance hit using a VM would only make matters worse. But, I have not tried it. QUOTE="Kaiyne, post: 570069, member: 127252"] On your i7, with that much ram, run a few different vm's with different configurations and see what happens... you...

    BI crashes!

I had been using BI on my regular and only Windows system for a few years with no problems. It is an i7-6770 with 64Gb of ram and a old high end Nvidia video card. I ran 5 cameras and never bothered to notice the BI CPU usage number. BI was no problem performance wise. I did none of the...

    BI crashes!

I hate such silly arguments, BUT where do you get "age 12"? To answer, I am not whatever age you assume I am. Hint: I never answer web sites requests for personal info correctly! I have written 8080 assembly when that was your only choice. Remember the Intel blue box? I wrote device...

OK, I as an outsider I am supposed to know what the ramifications of deleting registry keys for Perspective Software? Is Perspective Software used in any other application that might be installed on my system? I was writing software for Windows when the registry was first introduced. I know...

    BI crashes!

I write software for many systems, using the registry is just Windows way of doing things. My main point is that when you uninstall some software it should do a full cleanup. Only the software knows where everything is stored. Even better, it should ask if you want all data to be removed or to...

    BI crashes!

Being in the registry should not prevent a CLEAN install. It might be reasonable to ask during the install process "Clear old configuration?". Reinstalling Windows is not something that I relish. I would then have to reinstall other unrelated software, not fun!

    BI crashes!

Where is the configuration file stored? Or is it in the registry? Cleaning it out from the registry is much trickier for mere mortals.

Why can't I clear my configuration and start with a new config?
