My BI machine 'bricked' itself on a BI update last year and has been off-line since, and I've been too unwell to sort it out. The machine won't even boot up now
As soon as I start to feel better (cancer & chemotherapy treatment) I'll take a look at it more earnestly
I've kinda got the feeling...
Good review but worth noting that the review date was early (Feb) 2021 - both camera's are now listed as Profile S ONVIF compliant (July 2021 & Sept 2021)
MAy be worth a post-note on the review, as the review statement is now incorrect
Hi Loony2ns
Primary use is as security for my caravan
Secondary use is to see what the weather is doing without getting out of a nice warm bed or opening the thermal blinds which cover the windows :)
But primarily security
Hello All
Can anyone point me in the right directions .....
I'm looking for a physically small IP camera to use externally on my touring caravan ( for the Yanks in here, it's kinda like what you lot call a toy hauler with accommodation) ;)
Aside from being physically small, I'm looking for...
Hello all
Does anyone have any experience of the Israeli ProVision-IRS range of IP camera's
Hoping everyone is well & wishing you all a very Happy Christmas
Hello all
Recently when accessing BI, all I can see are my camera's !
I can't see any of the controls, no clips, no status bars at the bottom of the page - just the camera's
Have I done something wrong &/or if so, how do I fix it
Many thanks, Tony
Thank you both - forgot to include, the caravan has its own modular electrical system that delivers a stable 12v DC supply with 6 outputs
2 @ 12v 15 amps & 4 @ 12v 10 amps
Hello all
I have an electronics question for you
I've bought a PC that runs on 12v DC and want to run it in my caravan, on 12v
My lowest DC supply circuit is 12v 10 amps but the PC needs 12v 5 amps (60 watts)
How do I limit the supply to this PC - is it just a case of an inline 5 amp fuse...
Any update on this issue. I'm getting the same screen as others with all the red writing
It says Version 1.6.0 (which is the latest version) - at least my weather overlay is still working though
Hello all
I'm currently runing version 4.8 ish of BI
If I purchase the new version :
1. Do I need to deactivate my current version before installing V5
2. If I export my settings, will that save all the configurations of my current camera's for my new install
3. If NO for set 2, is there...
With many colleagues in the UK rail industry, it's quite a hot topic at present for Hikvision , Dahua as well as the infamous Huawei , as shown in these 2 links (of many here in the UK)
Hikvision, Dahua
Thanks @pozzello
Ideally would be looking for other fibre broadband users like me with both high speed connections (66Mbps D/l, 17Mbps U/l) and unlimited data - mine is capped by a 'fair use' policy, provided I don't exceed 50Tb per month ...... so fairly safe on that count ;)
Hello hive mind
Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas
Does anyone know of any instructions / information for connecting a BI machine to an external siren ?
As well as the system which records all camera's 24/7, I'd like to make use of an external siren when movement is detected
Thank you...
Hello, I live in a small village and would like to set up a community CCTV system
Would it be technically possible to have multiple IP camera's around the village (on peoples homes, connected to their computer & their internet) and sending the images to one central Blue Iris computer ?
The...
Firstly, I'd take down one camera & see if you can access it with a PC, maybe try WireShark .....
If you can't get it working, you've lost nothing
Secondly, whether you can or can't get it working, I'd personally remove the entire system & start afresh. I'm guessing someone called Jerry...
Just a quick public thank you to @alastairstevenson
I sent my non-working Hikvision camera up to Alastair by post & he very kindly took a look at it & rectified the fault before posting it back to me
Self addressed return envelope included , lots of bubble-wrap and sufficient (I hope) beer...
Most of my camera's seem to have 3 or 4 of these little notches as mentioned by @Nickg
When I mount my camera's, I fil these with sealant, apart from the one at the bottom (when mounted) in order that any water may escape
Hiya,
It's definitely a turret :) I'll get my phone so I can read the product number off it
Yes, the lights come of at the switch for both data connection & power
The reset button (very small) is under an IP-sealed cover, held on by 2 screws (I think there's also a micro Sd-cad slot in...
Hi Alastair
I've really no idea what is up with it. I bought it from a sparky trades guy off eBay & collected it having seen it working at his home
I wrote down the IP address, u/n & p/w having entered them of his machine so I knew I'd got them right
Plugged in on my machine (having changed...
I'll let you know how I get on, especially over the long term
Either way, it can't be any worse than the P-O-S Hikvision turret I bought months ago. Still can't get the piece of crap working
First of the cheap Chinese camera's has arrived. Comes with a host of programs & configuration applications
The only drawback being that the software comes on one of those stupid mini-CD disks - so useless in either of my desktops (recess in media tray but no detent) - had to use an old laptop...
