    t That did the trick. never thought of it that way i always put the default which when you chose the date starts at 00.00 and ends on 23.59 I'm honestly surprised there's a limit in that regard in the desktop version. thanks for your help!

    I don't know if you ever fixed this, but for the record i had the same problem and although i went to the cameras using the hikvision software i was not able to shut the thing up, so i went to the cameras via the browser and i was able to shut the annoying beep up.

    sorry, i think i misswrote, i plugged a 24volt router cable to the 12 volt DVR.

    the router is 12v indeed, and plugged a 24 volt. i take it back, the power light blinks too and the red light inside. i can get a replacement, but want to know if the HD is fried too which would suck.

    brick is difficult to remove, after you clean it why not put a sealant on the brick to make it easier to clean up the next time it happens. i really hate taggers by the way.

    why don-t you get a second hand coaxial to ethernet convertor just to test speeds? coaxial is stronger than cat6, so getting the cat6 through might open a can of works. i tried to do something similar once, but my parents house is about 30 years old and it was imposible to run cables thourgh...
