Notifications setting question.

I am trying to get the settings of Blue Iris for notifications just right. It is for a guy at his shop. When he is at his shop, there is a lot of movement and notifications. What is the easiest way to shut off notifications when he is out at the shop? Geofence? If so, is there a tutorial for that anywhere?
He takes his iphone with him always, but the ipad that has BI on it stays at the shop much of the time. Will the ipad affect his notifications?
Is there a way for this to work?

Geofence or set up away profiles and he manually changes.
