I'm just getting started building my system. An older HP to run Blue Iris is on its way from eBay. A PoE switch arrives shortly. I'll build out my vlan to segregate the cameras.

But now it's time to buy my first camera.

Seems the conventional wisdom is a varifocal with a good sensor-to-MP ratio to work well in low light. Try it out in different locations at different focal lengths to determine which cameras you need, and just to learn how the cameras work and react.

Is this IPC-T54IR-ZE from Andy still a good choice?
