Hi guys,

fairly new to CCTV, had stuff stolen from my property so setup a couple of cameras as a deterrent more than anything.

Is there a way of using the line cross feature in the alarms to turn on an outside wall light. The wiring isn’t a problem, just Need to know if it’s possible to get the alarm from the camera to turn in the light.

ideally only want it to come on for about 1 minute or x number of minutes etc.
not sure if there was some external hardware which is available that will solve this.

currently have 3 x 6mp domes on hikvision NVR.

thanks

More info would help:
  • NVR model number
  • Camera model number(s)
Also, be advised that, if not properly chosen, installed and/or oriented, a sudden visible light being turned on at night may cause blooming and loss of valuable video as the cam reacts to the sudden increase in ambient light. Choose the amount of light wisely and be expecting to make some adjustments and fine tuning.

To minimize blooming, insure the light source is only as bright as needed and is pointed away from camera and toward the area to be illuminated.

Light is actually not really seen by the cameras but to illuminate some steps just out of sight.
