Is there a guide to unbricking a Dahua NVR? My 4208-4K died during a firmware upgrade and won't even boot to anything on the screen. The TFTP and com port stuff is written for their cameras.
I was just wondering if there was anything to try since I have nothing to lose.
I posted this in another thread which is 12 PoE ports and 12 non-PoE. I don't hear mine, but it is in the basement in my server rack.
I got a deal on this switch from Amazon Warehouse Deals: NETGEAR ProSAFE JGS524PE 24-Port Gigabit PoE Web Managed (Plus) Switch with 12 PoE Ports 100w...
I'm just using it with two cameras and a PIR. My coworker is using one with five cameras. All cameras are Dahua IPC-HDW4431C-A 4MP. He just finished fishing the fifth camera and needs to do his PIR next.
We both got the NVRs without PoE. Running a separate PoE switch. This would let you not...
The newer Dahua NVRs support h.265. I tried Blue Iris on my ESXi server using the trial and it used too much CPU for my liking. You'd need to pass through an Intel GPU to bring down the usage.
I simply got a Dahua 4208-4k and added a drive. Pretty happy with it. Getting a PIR for alerts will...
I live near ATL and also would not suggest putting any equipment in the attic. In my prior home I cut a hole in the attic floor/upper level ceiling into the top of the guest room closet. I tapped into an electrical outlet in the adjoining room and put an outlet in the closet as well. The...

I don't get any false alarms now. Without the PIR all the alerts were trash. You either dial up the settings for software motion detection and miss most everything or you dial it down and get moths and tree limb shadows 24/7. Without the PIR I would just ignore all the alerts.
The cars and...
Most if not all the models you listed do not have 12vdc output from the NVR. I just hooked up a PIR to my 4208-4K over the weekend. I tapped into my security system panel to piggyback its 12vdc output and then ran the signal cables to my NVR. You could also simply add a transformer.
It works...
I'll dig into my security system after work.
I should be able to script with the LUUP engine on the Vera. I already send http commands to my Vera from EventGhost using IR triggers which lets me use any remote to control my lights (or and Z-wave device). I just haven't had Vera send out...
I've got a Dahua NVR and a Z-WAVE system with a Vera controller. Is there a simple way to have my Z-WAVE PIR create an alert trigger for my NVR?
I have a wired PIR shipping now, but I'd like to use the Z-WAVE one as well.
Also, I have a Honeywell Lynx security system that I'd like to...
