  • Okay I'm not sure how to connect it to nvr just yet
will I have to change ip addresses when it's connected to nvr
    i have spare ports
when you start mentioning lan and all this other computer talk it all goes out the window
    I need simple instructions
like cat 6 cable from pc to nvr port or where it says lan on nvr
    router to where ?
So many different settings here if you know if anything else I should change please let me know
    auto switch ?
    exposure settings?
    day/night switch ?
    back light switch ?
    white balance ?
    image enhancement?
    video adjustment ?
once I work out how to get to settings from nvr
I will be able to watch monitor and see changes
this way I can't cause camera isn't going thru nvr
Do you have an open port on your router? Try connecting it to your router it should work then, The IPV4 in SADP i am talking about is in the picture you posted, under the "IPv4 Address" it list the address of all your cams and NVR, when you change the address of a cam it should show the changed address in that same SADP screen like the picture you posted. Also make sure address 10.0.0.32 is not being used by another PC or device on your network, if it is change to an address that is not being used.
I have finally opened it mel 3:20 am here
I thought I'll give the router thing a try like you mentioned all I had to do was plug it into the router the whole time
makes a lot of difference when I have asked people previously
and finally found the extra settings
well I will have to change settings during day time hours so I won't know the out come for at least 16 hours
I'll let you know how it goes and thanks very much for all your time and help
I'm sure I will be back to talk to you again.
Didn't look for anything saying IPv4
and the way I connected wasn't into router
I powered it up with 12 volt power supply and plugged the camera straight into the side of the laptop pc
the IP address I changed it to was 10.0.0.32 is that the correct address ?
I also Didnt do anything in the dhcp area
Dang! does not make sense, so you disconnected the cam from the NVR and connected it to your router with external power, change IP through SADP, then put new IP in Internet Explorer and nothing? You try and enable DHCP in SADP also?.
Does the new IP address show up under IPv4 Address in SADP? If so then you are communicating with cam over your network and it should open in the browser.
I am sorry I can not be more help as I do not have built in POE but the above method should work, try and do a search on this site or post for help. To get the most out of your system you really need to have access to the cams menus.
3 hours mucking around I still can't open the camera settings
I changed the camera ip to 10.0.0.32 and it don't want 2 open
I've managed to do everything else you have said and its worked
those insect things have nearly disappeared, once the noise has been adjusted I'm sure it will be good
what i did do was change up address thru sadp
then went and enter new IP address into browser and it just wouldn't open.
Looking at your picture it shows cam 003 has an IP address of 192.168.254.3, this is the address assigned by the NVR network and you cannot access the cam using that address from a PC, you need to change the cam address to one that is on your PC's local network 10.0.0.XXX. You change the address of the cam using SADP then access through your browser.
Yes it did try that connection
Ok I'll try connecting without sadp
pretty sure I have always tried with it open
won't be for a couple hours tho
    thanks again mel
Did you reconnect your setup like it was mentioned in the link I gave you? https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/2113-Full-access-to-cameras-via-Hikvision-NVR
The only other thing I would suggest is connecting a cam to an open port on your router or an external switch on your network and apply separate power supply to the cam, go into SADP and change the cam address to one on your network like 10.0.0.32.
Then to access the cam type in the address 10.0.0.32 in IE browser, you cannot access anything through SADP, SADP will only show info and let you change the IP address.
finally got picture up for you
i double click on the ip address and it try to open but it doesn't open
    I don't think I have virtual host
I tried opening camera again but it didn't wanna open
and when I plug camera direct to pc it won't find it cause camera needs power supply
i have had camera on the bench with a power supply and it shows up on pc
but it just didn't want to open
I will try to put a picture up soon showing you where I am on pc
You could also enable virtual host if your NVR has it, check in "system configuration" "Network" "More Settings" then enable Virtual Host
I have tried that a coupe of times, but couldn't get into the settings when doing it that way,but i will give it another go
    what I have done previously
I have pluged the camera lead straight into the pc with sadp open
then camera shows up where I have changed IP address previously
then I have double clicked on the IP address on the left side, not where I have changed the ip
it try's to open then stops, so I've always thought im doing something wrong
I've also tried typing in the IP address into the browser and it didn't open
I'm assuming there's no live view if I do get it 2 open ?
does this sound right what I have done previously ?
That camera should have noise reduction, I have U.S version and it has it, most all newer cams have it, you need to access straight to the cameras settings menu with a PC, so PC > Cam, not PC > NVR > Cam. If you go into "Image" through NVR it will only show a couple settings like you posted, by going straight into the cams menus you have a lot of other setting you can change. In IE Explorer browser Just type in the cams IP address (not the NVR address) and log into the cam.
