    How does push notifications work?

In my case, it doesn't, so far. I’ve used my Hikvision DS-2CD2132F-IS as a doorbell for several years, getting a notification from iVMS 4500 on my phone whenever there was a motion event. Notifications have become increasingly unreliable over the last year, and now stopped altogether. I am...

Hikvision NVR event settings override camera settings

ONVIF is another way for the cameras to talk to the NVR, instead of Hikvision native. You do the motion settings on the camera, instead of in the NVR. And yes, if you make changes in the NVR, you may need to go back and redo the camera settings. It's been working for me since that post, though.

...and it's right there in your original instructions, *and* in the scope jpg. Cripes. Sorry. Changed that bit, redid the checksum, and we're all in. Thanks again.

I noticed that a bunch of it was different from my other camera of the same model. I was thinking about using the earlier mod, and decided against it. Which is the language byte?

My DS-7616NI-E2 / 8P NVR sees it and controls it. There's some chinese in the OSD. Can't log into it from anything else. Should I start over with brickfix2EN.dav?

Hrm. Updating another 2CD2132F-IS. Process appeared to sail right through, starting with brickfix2CN.dav and ending with firmware 5.4.0. Camera shows up in SADP, and accepts new network parameters. When I try to log in, though, I get Access Error: 404 -- Not Found firmware language mismatch...

I have another pair of hacked Chinese cameras, a DS-2CD2142FWD-I and a DS-2CD2145F-IS, both running 5.3.6. I'm not clear on how and when to do prtHardInfo to get the devType. Do I just walk through the unbricking process, update to brickfixV2CN, then to 5.4.0, and run the command in Putty before...

Boom. That worked. The SD card is back. I did still have to go to 5.4.0 first. I also remembered to note that I needed to change the directory displayed in the Tftpd32 window to the current directory on desktop. Are you sure 5.4.5 is the latest? 5.4.41 has a later build date.

Excellent, thanks. The file has a couple additional devtypes since I downloaded it in January.

I did 0698 per the chart in enhanced_mtd_hack.txt. 5.4.41 has a later build date than 5.4.5.

Yet another success story updating a pwned DS-2CD2132F-IS from something chinese and very old. The video was an invaluable companion. Noticed that Bradmph's archive doesn't include the whoslooking tftp files. Had to go to 5.4.0 before going to 5.4.41, but I got there. Sadly and...
