I'm getting the same on all recordings, low or high res. Have reverted to previous version.

Different types and brands. I've confirmed it's happening on my Hiks, Dahuas and Huisuns. Only recordings, live view is fine.

How did you revert to previous verson?
Simply run a previous update file. There are some posted in the forum...this is a good reason to download the updates from the website so you have the actual file to revert if needed.

Sorry, noob here. Where do I downloand them from which website? I just have it update automatically. With this version there is a lot of ghosting and problems with the recordings and I want to revert back. Is there a repository of all the older versions?
Thanks!

Turn off auto update, its a terrible idea with any software. The blue iris website has the update available for download. There are no old update file posted on the website but folks on the forum post them occasionally to dropbox.

Does your framerate match your camera? In 4.3.8.0 blue iris keeps changing to 21fps, when my cameras are 20fps, which is causing extreme artifacting.

I keep changing it back to 20fps, but blue iris keeps changing it to 21fps.

I reverted to 4.3.7.2 until this is fixed.

Read the release notes. It will change it to a higher value automatically, that is normal. There is something wrong in this particular release, revert back until an update is released.

Ya, I noticed the "If the actual FPS received from the camera exceeds the "max rate" setting for 5 seconds, the max rate will be adjusted upward automatically in increments of 1 up to a maximum of 60. The "fps warning" condition now occurs only if the actual fps drops below 50% of its maximum rate."

But I don't know why it does it. It keeps changing it to 21fps, which then causes artifacting on every clip, and all the motion is blurred and impossible to see. It needs to be locked to 20fps. This "feature" has broken my system.

I have reverted, though, but that feature needs to be removed or overrideable

Do I need to uninstall before installing an old version? I thought we could stop the service and run the "old" full install and it would revert back?

No it doesnt have to be removed. The update is just not working, its has nothing to do with the 21fps change. Before the auto option when you could set the value we would always set it higher to AVOID artifacting. The auto option became the default many months ago. Nothing was changed except removing the option to "set" the fps which didnt actually change anything. There is simply something wrong with this update.

I discovered a few corrupt clips too, after reducing some of Blue Iris' frame rate settings to make the warning icon go away. That frame rate field in Blue Iris's IP camera configuration has been nothing but trouble ever since people stopped using mjpeg. I wish the frame rate field would just go away, but I have to trust that Ken has a good reason for keeping it around.

Anyway, in case anyone needs it, here is the 64 bit 4.3.7.3 update file. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/72769267/Blue Iris/update64_4.3.7.3.exe

Yep, extreme artifacting with me too.

No problem, I just rolled back to 4.3.7.3 and all is good again.
