That's definitely a better deal. I paid $47.25 for the one that I purchased last month which included PoE.

I'm planning on selling it to a friend of mine. I was going to set her up with BI, but then realized that she doesn't have a PC. She has a MAC. I wonder if there is any software similar to BI that will work with a MAC? She wants motion captures and text alerts. She said there's been a few thefts in her neighborhood and she want's the camera to cover her front door.

Thanks for the links. I've worked with PC's since the mid 80's but never touched an Apple device, so know nothing about them and have no desire to own or use one. :)

I haven't tested the BeSafe outside yet. I set it up on my workbench a few days ago and took a BI snapshot with the lights off. Looks good to me.

I think I'll try to talk her into buying a PC that I rebuilt recently by replacing the HDD with a SSD and updating the RAM to 8GB's. It's a Core2 Duo, but that should be fine using BI with a couple of cameras. I really don't want anything to do with her mac. :)

Just ordered another BeSafe with PoE included using your links. Thanks.

I don't have a PPC option in the older version of BI I'm running. Since I use Nvidia graphics, I decided to stay with BI v4.2.7.1 for now, hoping that Ken will eventually add HA support for Nvidia.

Has anyone noticed a slight purplish tint in the corners with the BeSafe camera? It's not a big deal but wondered if others have the same thing.

OK that makes sense why you didn't have any issue and considering that users that disabled this option hasn't reported reboots we can consider this as a workaround until it's fixed.

I believe that you are jumping to a conclusion by basing your conclusion on a sample size which too small to be conclusive.
We certainly can't conclude yet this issue was resolved since we only had a few users report this and appear to have it resolved by disabling PPS option in BI, so we'll wait until we hit 1000 reports before we'll make final conclusion, but at least we can conclude with 99.9% certainty that you are actually a comedian based on your track record of over a thousands posts...

In all seriousness, since you mentioned that you have PPS disabled for all your cams, for sake of testing, why not try to enable this for all of them and tell us the results?

I ran with "Get events with PullPointSubscription" enabled on my three (3) Longse cameras for approximately 4 weeks and I did not experience unintended reboots. In addition, as I remember, only two (2) persons claimed they were having Longse unintended reboot issues; they had reported that they had disabled PullPointSubscription but they have not reported that the disabling PullPointSubscription had conclusively eliminated the issue. Furthermore, and again as I remember, one of those two persons also stated that -- in addition to disabling PullPointSubscription -- he had also changed the BI Video > Configure > "Make" to "Longse" and the "Model" to "RTSP." And I believe it is reasonable to argue that two persons does not make a credible sample size Klasipca, especially when one of those persons has made additional configuration changes. As I wrote previously, disabling PullPointSubscription MAY resolve the issue, but it's too early in the game make conclusive statements.
