So that just leaves the weird issue of Network settings in the GUI all blanked out....
Updated a DS-7716NI-I4-16P to v3.4.80 last week and had the same issue with blank configuration options. Clearing my browser cache has resolved similar issues in the past, but not this time.
Resolved it by factory defaulting the NVR - do be wary of resetting if you have a non-WR model of course. Hikvision recommend doing so after a firmware update anyway, but a bit of a pain.

Thanks, that did the trick. Never really thought before about the browser cache where Hik was concerned.

So 2 days in and the DS-7608NI-I2 is working normally with v3.4.80 apart from a little sluggish playback

that is great i'm thinking of updating but i have a small problem and not sure if it's fixed when i play back on the nvr it self does yours when using 4MP cctv cameras show no resource available when you play back hovering over the play back time line see photos it works only on the 2mp cameras i have but not the 4mp ones
Today I tested DS-7608NI-I2 8P and a DS-7716NI-I4-16P and can confirm both have this problem in playback for the 4mp cams but not the 3mp cams I have.

This was a problem in v3.4.6 and v3.4.62 so its not specific to just v3.4.80

I know you've fixed this with a reset to defaults - but this may give some people a nasty surprise when the menus revert to Chinese.
Out of interest - did you get a prompt to, and did you, update webcomponents with the updated firmware?
I initially declined the update, but did notice a Live View problem - Live View failed - on the config screens, which went away after the update.
I have no idea what the previous installed version was, but it was not that old.

Good point, I've edited that warning in my post.
Yeah, I was prompted for an updated web components. I'm not sure on the previous version myself, but I'm now on v3.0.6.6

Alastair,

Are you able to provide a telnet edited firmware for 7608NI/E2 8P......specifically 3.4.80

As an aside, not sure what the difference is between the K51 and K41 mentioned earlier in the thread.

I believe the K51 is the newer 76xx-Ix series NVRs with faster, different hardware whereas K41 is the 76xx-Ex series.

Here is an interesting thing! Well, at least for some of us.
It conflicts somewhat with people's experiences and what is quite good advice to 'leave well alone' on the topic of firmware updates.
The reason I didn't notice it before is that it does not appear when using IE11, but it does appear on Chrome and Firefox.
When I get a bit of time I might take a look at the traffic that pressing the button generates, especially to see if it includes what in some cases might be sensitive data such as the model number, serial number, as well as the firmware version. It would not be good if it Hikvision spying and able to identify a 'modified' device.

Check out the 'Update' button:

Just for information, this firmware works well except on Mac it breaks the web components : Safari Firefox, on windows the Gui detect that new web components
is available and after installation, just work for Live view and Playback

I updated one of our DS-7608NI-I2 8/P (despite Hikvisions RAM warning notice) to v3.4.80 . I'm not recommending anyone else do this just because it worked for me !

Currently its running OK with 2 x 4mp cams connected recording at a bitrate of 16384 constant

Couple of items I've noticed which maybe someone else with an I2 could confirm

- In the web GUI, NIC type dropdown and all IP settings field are blank and not editable under Network >> Basic Settings >> TCP/IP
- Enable HTTPS checkbox is greyed out

- Search and Smart playback are sluggish which I'm guessing is part of the RAM issue Hikvision stated.
would you reccommend me to update? I also have an i2 with 3 recording 4MP cams and 2 cams not recording, view only.
I am now on 3.4.62

I was wondering if anyone had updated a DS-7616NI-SE/P?

Last year when I tried to update from 2.3.8 to 2.3.10, my live feeds stopped working. Here's my thread my last year.

I see you haven't learnt your lesson about double-posting. No wonder you keep bricking your NVR. See my other post for actual advice about NVRs and not basic forum etiquette.

I don't see any real advantages to going from 3.4.62 to 3.4.80 on the I2, interfaces are the same, its not fixing anything that I have noticed broken in the I2 or adding in any significant new features.

Just a personal view but we haven't bothered to upgrade any client units from .62 to .80

Gmail fixed.
PTZ linkage for events.
SSH access.
Format conversion on video export.
Additional controls on playback.

Are you referencing the I2 or the E2 ?

We have 6 x I2's in the field using 3.4.62 that don't have the gmail problem, SSH works and the additional playback controls are the same. I can't comment on PTZ linkage or format conversion.

In 3.4.80 is anyone else getting only 1 image attachment in the email alerts ?

Just noticed that the attached photo is now full size but there is only 1, whereas on 3.4.62 and previous it was always 3 images attached
