So I did that thing where I bought what I thought was an English HikVision camera but after researching posts on here that is not the case. I am trying to confirm now if I downgrade the firmware will the 802.1x features be enabled and work? I need to use the wireless feature of the camera on a network that uses 802.1x.

The camera I have is: DS-2CD2132F-IWS running DS-2xx2_v5.3.0_151016

Is there a chance anyone can confirm if that is true?

Thanks in advance.

But what is the reason to touch the firmware? Does the camera not work well with the current firmware?

I need to enable/access 802.1x.... there are screen shots of those features in the manual but when I access the web interface they are not there.

With apologies for the dumb question - I've seen 802.1x on 5.2.3 and 5.2.5 and 5.3.3 - but only on non-WiFi capable cameras.
Are you definitely looking under Advanced Configuration | Network for the 802.1x tab?
I'm wondering if for some reason it's not available when the hardware supports WiFi - though I don't know why that would be, unless the crypt library in use does not support it for that hardware.
Looking at the javascript that provides the web pages - what's shown is selectively segmented based on the hardware found.

Perhaps others can confirm if there is indeed a link between having no WiFi and having the 802.1x option.
