In America, how will the PAL only feature effect recording or watching recorded footage? Will anything special need to be done since it is PAL only?

it wont; NTSC vs PAL matters for analouge because the signals are different.. but with Digital Cameras; the format (h264/h265/mjpeg) is completely identical and the resolutions are the same.

because its PAL it has a upper FPS limit of 50fps; for security purposes its suggested to run them at less than 20fps to allow higher quality at the same bitrate.

I have a PAL NVR and a NTSC TV; and because of digital HDMI it works perfectly fine.

The camera I received had a P in its model number; they dont typically do that unless NTSC is also an option with a N replacing the P in the model.. so I do expect NTSC variants to become avilable eventually.. seems PAL is always first.

If writing to a MicroSD card, would max FPS be 30 or so? Some cams can only write so fast to MicroSDXC right? I need to get an NVR for my cams!

Who cares, writing more that 15fps is a waste or resources.

at least it isn't a Nintendo item being resold for 3x its MSRP because it is low stock.
Lol the wife bought one of those for my nephew. She went to the store for a doll for our daughter and was in line early so she said why not as all the people in line were trying to get one. I have seen them on overpricedbay for $1000.

just be weary of IR reflection, I suspect with as sensitive as this thing is it wont take well to soffits blasting most of the IR back
Thanks Nayr! But oh shoot - I didn't think about that and several of my cameras were going to be mounted under the soffits. Wish I had a way of knowing it this is going to be an issue.

You will not have issues with ir refection with a turret style camera..

Not internal IR reflection, but it can just as easily suffer from external reflection ... from a nearby soffit or anything else.
That would apply equally to any camera and would only be an issue if the camera is improperly angled so that the soffit or wall is in the imaged.

Actually, it doesn't even need to be in the image. As long as it is nearby in the path of the IR beam, it can reflect IR strongly back at the camera and cause an effect just like the IR bleeding we see so often from domes. I've seen this happen myself.

Varifocals are way prone to it; because you can zoom in and get the soffits completely out of frame.. however the Ir is still 90 degreeish and the lens is still aimed at the soffits.. so wham... usually happens when someone tries to zoom in on something far out and and its not aimed downward as much.

If your existing cams are not having any issues; then this should not either with the same framing..

in domes, this does not happen in turret cameras.

I'll admit it was a bullet cam I did this with, but I don't see how a turret could be immune.
