So I have an older sandy bridge i3 basic lenovo home laptop that I have been using for years to run blue iris..its not used for primary recording although I i did setup recording as a backup ..its used to display video for 3 cams at a reception desk then duplicate the feed via hdmi to a wall mounted monitor about 20 feet away. Its still running Blue Iris 3.66 and windows 7 since its only used to monitor live video...the system has no internet access. I went out to the location today and out of curiosity looked at the windows uptime....so next time someone tells you that windows is unstable..

As much as I prefer XP over 7, I have to admit that with 7 came a huge improvement in stability. I generally have to reboot my XP boxes for some reason every few days. 7, it seems, will go "forever" without a reboot. 8 and 10 don't go very long for me because I shut them down and get away from them as quickly as I'm able to.

j/k thats pretty good; US Military runs comms through windows servers.. so it can be done; as long as you keep em far away from internet access :D

I couldn't achieve that level of uptime without better battery backups. Heck I reorganize my server shelf upgrade my servers more often than that.
