Hey all, I'm another long time lurker that's been trying to do my homework with what brand of NVR setup to go with for my first. Originally I was thinking of Hikvision due to purchase options from Nelly's Security and milkisbad with their warranty and good user feedback. As I read more threads, it became apparent that more and more people preferred Dahua over Hikvision. The million dollar question, outside of Aliexpress.com, is there any reliable source to buy Dahua from in the USA? Great support and peace of mind would be top priority as this would be my very first setup and I'd like to try and make sure equipment purchase is hassle-free. Thanks in advance.

B&H but you will pay a significant premium and they wont have any international models like the starlight turret discussed in the dahua forum.

Most of the time you can expect 2 to 3 weeks from order acceptance to delivery via epacket. If shipping via DHL you can expect a week normally.

HAHA - that's funny :)

Sorry, no, you most likely are SOL. The turnover with these sellers is very high, and many shut down stores and reopen new stores under a different name if they get bad press/ratings/issues, ect. Basically you roll the dice and hope for the best.

All my experiances are very good, the chance anything will go wrong is almost nill. In most cases a completely defective unit locally here a authorized distributor would just replace with another unit so just buy two from China and you will still save and have your own warranty in your hands. Of my 9 cameras from China two had issues, one I fixed via firmaware and the other was replaced ( Imporx V2 10X ) for free and I am attempting to fix the one that died when splitter arrives. Worst case senario you get really screwed then just go through your credit card and complain.

WHAT? Are you telling him to buy product from China and if he has a problem he can get it replaced in the states for free?!? NO, Do not listen to this advice.

Seriously your advice is to just purchase two cameras as your "warranty option"... WTH Jack?!?!?! Cameras on AE are NOT 50% the price of US - Why do you bring up the same crap that has been proven wrong time and time again.
buy two from China and you will still save and have your own warranty in your hands.
Huisun/Imporx strikes again. Instead of buying inferior crap that fails and needs warranty you could purchase more proven quality hardware... Just Saying

Finally you will not get anything from your credit card company if in 60 days your camera craps out. You received a working product and paid for said product. Just because the product fails later does not mean your credit card company will help you, you got exactly what you paid for.

This is about the only factual info since you always manage to get at least one factual statement in your posts. The majority of AE experiences seem to go really well and the products normally arrive with no problem. You see very few posts about DOA products and those that fail normally have an underlying reasons like power surge, temperature, etc. Unless its an inferior product like Huisun cameras which seem to have posts all over about totally unexplained failures.

All my experiances are very good, the chance anything will go wrong is almost nill.

PM EMPIRETECANDY. Tell him the models you want and he can send you a Paypal invoice. Aliexpress has payment security problems by just inputting your credit card.

I just submitted an order with him last night. Other posters here have had good testimonials with his company.

China sellers NEVER replace anything for free...either "jack" was afraid of negative publicity when he was selling lots of cameras here to suckers or you threatened him with such or some other chargeback means.

Bought thousands from ALi and over 6 transactions from variety suppliers last 3 weeks and ZERO issue with my credit cards. Perhaps there is another issue if your cards are having hiccups or this particular supplier.

No never threatened him with any process and the camera he sent me working great so far and I am going to try and get that dead one going not giving up ! People must remember that Aliexpress which is ALibaba group make for comparison EBAY and Amazon's total sales put togeather look like a corner store in terms of volume when compared to ALI(not even half as big). Alibaba group is the largest retailer in the world.

Their total sales is irrelevant. Every seller is independent. They will NEVER send you a FREE replacement. That is fact. There is WAY more to the story despite your refusal to be truthful. There have been hundreds of issues with cameras, I have never seen an ali seller offer a FREE replacement. Something else is going on.

Well you know with MI6 after me and naturally my connections in China I did call the owner Jack "Ma" to get my free camera! Seriously I did nothing but, let them know my camera died perhaps they valued thier feedback. Seems your facts are not facts they always look after me and better than EBAY without question now they are scammers. You need to remember too that most of Amazon sales are independent sellers too!

Prove it! That's what you used to tell me when I debunked your "AE cameras are half price of private label HIK hardware in the US" I uploaded two copies of invoices. So screen shot your order history boss and let me see your THOUSANDS Of dollars in China AE purchases....

Seriously Jack, you get troll of the year award. Somehow you always get senior contributing
members of this forum to square off with your nonsense!

That is not the point...there is NO WAY you got a free camera simply out of the goodness of a china sellers heart. There is way more to this story that you are not telling us. NO ONE else has had the same luck as you do....seems strange..
point is buyers must assume no warranty from aliexpress...
