hello everyone,
I have been using many type of cams in my different companies, now i have bought a a new home now wandering around for something new
I have pen down HIKVISION ip 2 MP (seems more reliable as per reviews )
But my ambition is to achieve push notification alert need your guys advise on this
I am also looking forward for home automation and somebody told me GW security is the only camera which can be configure using amazon echo in PIP window while watching tv if there is any movement on that camera
This is what i am talking about, now to fulfil the below project which is so far best ip cams as per your knowledge

You've got a fundamental failure to understand what's happening in the video above (to be fair, the video doesn't explain how they did things). Alexa has almost nothing to do with what you see there. GW security cameras are NOT recommended and also have nothing to do with what you see in the video.

Temper your expectations, a far more basic setup seems like it would still have a steep learning curve.

Amazon Alexia does not do push notifications; you an talk to it but it cannot be configured to talk to you on events..

secondly; good luck finding a modern television w/Picture-n-Picture that'll work the way you want.

I think this video is some serious smoke and mirrors... Their is a LOT more to what is going on.

One simpler option may be one of these: Skreens: Just plug, play and play

We have a couple of these running in our conference rooms at the office after I saw them visiting a customer out in Denver. They we're part of their original kickstarter project but these latest versions are pretty badass. I'm considering picking one up for home the start of the year possibly.

If you want to PIP or otherwise overlay security cameras, short of something like skreens (which most people can't get their hands on at this point and it won't be cheap) you're looking at an HTPC in most cases. Stream your content on the HTPC, connect a tuner, set up a DVR to record your shows, etc. It might also be possible to do an overlay in something like kodi or plex but it isn't easy to do by any means.

Their first release was via kickstarter. After that they did another release which is the one we got in on at work and they were $450 for the 4 input model. Right now they are in a hold again until their next new model release and pricing hasn't been published from what I've seen yet on that one. But I would guess again between 4-500 for the 4 input unit.

Thanks all for replying on above matter, let me clear a bit more , I have already bought the Alexa and am very much aware she cannot send notifications
I need need your advise on which ip camera setup do you recommend for push notifications as after reading through forum I realised that it's better to attach pir with camera to have push notification anybody using any similar setup with less false alarm notification ??

If you use Blue Iris, you can have it do a number of things whenever motion is detected on a camera. Not a PiP for your TV though.

I have never tried sighthound but I will say their "people detection" looks promising if it works as well as they make it look on their webpage. I mean for example I have had reason to record people on foot walking down the road while I don't normally care about cars, yet Blue Iris motion detection doesn't let me detect just people and not get cars too.

I recommend Blue Iris because I am very familiar with it and I know it can suit the needs of most people just fine. I don't mean to say there aren't other good options out there.

Does BI has subscription or one time purchase
? Is this for ip cams only ?

Blue Iris is a one time purchase of $60 which supports "up to 64" cameras which is realistically more than you can run on one system anyway. This includes free updates/upgrades and basic email support for 1 year. After this, you can optionally pay $30 per year for 1 year extended support, or $60 for a year of "priority service". Currently, you can get minor version updates even after your support period has expired, and I imagine it will probably continue this way.

Blue Iris also works with analog cameras via the use of certain capture cards, and USB cameras, but those all suck and you should only really consider IP cameras.
