Blue iris is developed by a single person. Yes one guy. His response to bugs is generally within a few hours. Way faster than ANY software developer I have ever seen. In the future, follow the advice above and you will easily be able to revert back.
Apologies fenderman. I was not using sarcasm. I thought you happened to be a support agent for blueiris. I meant it as a compliment to you. You responded so quickly (on New Year's Day no less).

Thanks. I am not associated with blue iris at all. Nor is this site.

Simply run an older update file..You won't find it in the site... That is why all your updates should be manual..
Disable auto update..
Like a few other user's, I'm stuck with version 4.4.9.5 x64 and don't have the prior update saved. Once this issue gets resolved I'll start using manual updates as suggested.

Just out of curiosity.... Do users need to uninstall their current BI install/update before installing a prior/older version first?

I also wonder how Ken (BI Developer) would benefit if all BI users stopped using auto update. Wouldn't this compound the problem by not presenting issues the developer was unaware of before he builds on top of that?

I guess I'm at a loss at what would be more helpful for the developer. I don't mind being a Beta Tester if it helps identify software issues, but wish Ken would post prior versions of BI on his web and offer instructions on downgrading if the recent version creates problems for the user(s).

You dont have to uninstall, simply run the earlier update file...
The auto update does not immediately update after its posted to the website...it takes a while...
There are always folks who suffer from update disease...its not limited to blue iris, we see this with cameras and NVR's all the time...they must have the latest version or their unit will self destruct..

ROFL :D

Suppose your right about some. Just know that this isn't my take when it comes to the BI software :(. In a way I feel user feedback to Ken helps identify issues and thus helps him develop a better product across the board.

In a perfect world Ken might consider the added benefits us "Guinea Pigs" provide and offer us a nice link to the prior version (at a minimum).

Now I'm getting cold feet  as well.

Time to create a new folder for future BI updates and re-name them to their respective version(s).

I did have to uninstall and reinstall as it wouldn't just update from the previous download. Now all is good on the previous version. Still getting the problem with the cameras selecting the second stream and not the first, but that's a different issue.

I did too. Great personal service! So my question is, should I install this update?

LOL

I would. Just play it safe and manually download it and save it inside a folder with the current version info.

BTW:

I changed my update settings inside the BI Options "About" TAB to Prompt at startup vs. Automatic download and install. This will at least keep me posted on update releases and manually downloading/saving, etc.

This is where (Correct me if I'm wrong) the file will be linked.

Since we have two differant threads covering the same issues (other is located inside the (Blueiris Troubleshooting) I'll re-post again...lol

Ken of Blue Iris has released update 4.4.9.6. It looks to have corrected all the issues we have been concerned with, i.e., low video stream quality of both live and pre-recoreded events streamed on mobile devices.

Kudo's to Ken of BI for providing a quick-fix solution. This is what excellent customer service is and why I'll pay for the added support yearly.
