how do i fine tune TRIGGER settings so that it does not trigger with just car lights?

i have tried:
- decreasing sensitivity to 1100 and contrast to 84 ( least sensitive) but cameras still get triggered when cars pass by.

- enabled "camera is only active when extremely triggered , this kinda worked but now , cameras do not trigger with just me walking straight to the cameras. (wonder what extremely triggered means).

i n essence, looks like the mere car lights trigger motion detection.

thanks in advance for your kind help.

externally triggered not extremely triggered. Where do you see that option? You likely completely disabled motion detection.
You will need to use multiple zones, zone crossing and alerts trigger options to get this right...read the help file.

i painstakingly printed the help file (v4 i think..its hard to find a .CHM file to print) so i can read and check and change settings... my hard copy of help file the wrong version perhaps.

ive used A and HOTSPOT and set crossing to A>H but still triggers the cameras.

DONT use the hotspot. Dont print the manual, you will learn nothing that way. Every settings page in blue iris has a help button. Hit it and it will take you to the regular section.
