I suspected as much. I just didn't want to assume. :)

Dual boot these days? Yeah, I used to do it. But unless you need the performance for gaming, with VM's, I don't see the need as much. I've got a new Dell XPS 13 with the i7 and it cold boots Windows 7 in 17 seconds. Shutdown is 7 seconds. Microsoft has been pulling all sorts funky tricks to speed up the boot & shutdown sequence of Windows since after NT 4.0 (Remember that - the last true OS product from Microsoft, which of course they stole from IBM OS/2 - MS developers wrote it under contract for IBM then abandoned it for NT). But it's never a true cold boot now and there are all sorts of ramifications. Try buying a laptop from Dell or Lenevo now and torching the OS. With UEFI it can be a major pain. Took me 2 days to scrub Windows off the XPS 13 and put on Linux. Working on it now with a new Lenovo Carbon X. Even harder. But a joy once you get it going.
Just a note on the Microsoft & IBM OS/2 Bill gates suppose to work with IBM in development instead he took what IBM was doing and created Windows.

There's so much more that went on behind Public Knowledge and why IBM didn't take Him to court is beyond belief. Other part of the stupidity of IBM.

My wife was a developer of OS/2 in Boca Raton. Anyone have a copy of OS/2 ? There is a backdoor that list the developers.

Wonder what a unopened Commemorative release is worth, Still have one on the shelf.

@nayr I guess you know the answer to my question above :) Thanks beforehands.
OT: I bought a mini black face based on your recommendation and it has worked flawlessly outdoor 24-7 even during winter (lowest temp was -25 c).

I still have the OS/2 Warp on the floppies somewhere in my storage

Just grabbed a IPC-HDW4231EM-AS to replace my crappy ESCAM covering my front lawn. Before ESCAM replacement, will drop it in the backyard in place of my Reolink 410 and then garage in place of my 422 to see about a total replacement. The ESCAM has started giving me serious connection issues(and overall bad video quality) and the Reolinks have been all around annoying. Hoping this guy can suit my needs much better! Wish I had found this forum years ago during my initial foray into home security. :)

next time spend the +$35 for a varifocal and you'll get an even bigger kick in low light performance.. That camera has a F2.0 Aperture which is nearly half the size the F1.4 you get w/Varifocals

either way it should do quite well compared to what you've got.

Thanks for the note! Will see about grabbing one to compare and use where best suited!

Here's the difference between the F2.0 and F1.4 Starlights

F2.0 Fixed Lens Starlight

F1.4 Varifocal Lens Starlight:

thats no IR and both cameras w/identical exposure settings.. only performance variation between the cameras is the optics

The'll be back in stock here soon; IIRC the next order from the factory should be on the way and is ~180 units.. so hopefully they can start keeping up with demand

Awesome. Was able to can existing order for now and will try this guy when in stock instead! Thanks for the quick replies everyone.

For what its worth, below are (re)placements i am looking to make. Relatively basic overview of entryways and of my garage. You can probably spot my dome purchase mistake.... :)

Today I opened up a IPC-HDW4231EM-AS to install mirco SD card. I couldn't find a card slot anywhere in that camera.

Have anyone seen a card slot on the IPC-HDW4231EM-AS which is the fixed turret camera? I look up the specs on the Dahua website and it did state that this model support mirco SD card.
