Says "ships within 60 days" and DHL is an extra $20. Standard "free" shipping adds up to another 60 days.

No, but the DHL shipping is crazy. Empiretecandy includes that in his prices. Epacket is free with them but by the time you get the cam Andy will no doubt have it in Stock and shipped to you already.

Got my shipment of 2 cameras delivered 2 hours ago. Record delivery time from the DHL shipment notice on San Jose morning Saturday to delivery on Monday noon.

Thanks @EMPIRETECANDY for the fast turn around and @nayr and other forum members on guidance. Now need some time in the evening to play.

From where I am (NZ) it says ships free with Chinamail, estimated delivery 10-25 days. Guaranteed to arrive within 60 days. That's the normal with chinamail in my experience. Where do you see it will take 60 days to ship indicated?

Same here, I only "needed" one but got two because... well I can always find somewhere to put another and told the wife they'll sell out quick Impressive shipping times indeed.

Like a kid in a candy store waiting to get home and play. Being a member of this forum sure gets expensive.

It seems like the ad has changed. I don't see it there anymore.

S2 is either indication of firmware installed or a minor revision (like rearranging components on the board); if you look at the label in the first post you'll see the original one reviewed was S2.. Someone who got one before me managed to get an S1 revision and all we could tell different was it had much older firmware on it.. if hardware changes significantly the'll change the model number completely like they did w/the MiniPTZ

its only applicable for those ordering direct from the factory really

Hey guys, just wanting to know if this camera can be mounted to the side of a house out of the box? Or do I require some other attachment?
Thanks.

Let me start off by saying, thank you @nayr for creating this thread. Recently I decided it was time replace our existing analogue 700TVL CCTV system due to various problems. I knew IP was all the rage especially since pricing has come down a ton.

So, I set off in search of information regarding recommendations on brand / models and it didn’t take long for me to find this thread and the excellent information it contained. It is rare in this day and age to find a product which has no (or minimal) flaws and is liked by a majority without a difference of opinion. I was sold after reading the opening post. As I live in Australia purchasing CCTV cameras is next to impossible unless you go through an installer due to local distributers refusing to sell unless you are in the industry and unlike sourcing IT equipment, CCTV retail stores are non-existent.

I was both pleased and unsure about using Aliexpress to make my purchase as recommended by @nayr. It wasn’t until I took the trouble to go through the posts and discover that the seller @EMPIRETECANDY (known as Andy) was actively engaging with the community. This combined with the large number of people who had successfully purchased though Andy provided me all the evidence and confidence I needed.

All the above took place around the middle of January when stock had sold out on Aliexpress and the Chinese New Year was fast approaching. I reached out to Andy who was very proactive, answering any question I had, leading to my order via PayPal for the below being placed on the 24/07/2017.

8 x IPC-HDW5231R-Z

1 x NVR5216-4KS2

2 x PFB203W

1 x PFA137

Fast forwarding to the present and after waiting patiently through CNY my goods are currently on their way over the pond for delivery, which Andy assures me should be by the end of the week.

TLDR;

In summary if you are after a jack of all trades IP camera for both day and night, your decision from my point of view is easy. First read nayr’s opening post, and eliminate the possibility of thinking there is something out there currently that is either, cheaper or has a higher resolution which will perform the same and secondly make your purchase though @EMPIRETECANDY.
