Many folks still running BI3 often request the latest update file because the Blue Iris website only hosts the 3.66 full install. I have uploaded the update file to dropbox...
Link removed- version 3 is way to old...update to 4.

Thanks for posting this. My hard drive crashed and I had installed and configured a previous version that I still had saved in my download folder before I figured out that I was missing drivers and wasn't on the latest build of BI3. This saved me from exporting all of the cameras and doing a complete reinstall. Thanks again.

Thanks for the link. It would be good to have that listed on blueirissoftware.com

As for the update itself, it's very confusing. When I started 366.exe it simply started BlueIris. There wasn't any dialog about updating the software. I then started 366.exe with BlueIris started. In this case I got an Install Wizard dialog but then it complained that BlueIris is running (which makes sense but and which is the reason why I initially first shut it down before the update) and says "Update of c:\program files(x86)\blue iris 3\blueiris.exe failed(32)--make sure it is not in use". At the end it says 14 of 15 files updated which means I might now have a version with mixed files (never good).

I want to update my post from before. There is actually a link on the webpage to the latest version. I spent a good amount of time yesterday to find it and actually was on the page where it is listed but didn't scroll all the way down. You can find it at the link below. Scroll all the way down and you will see the links to the latest 3.x and 2.x version. I understand the reason why to make it less obvious where to get those versions (so people upgrade instead) but in my opinion it leaves a negative impression which actually makes me more hesitant to upgrade. Maybe that's just me but at least I wanted to provide my 2 cents.

You are shooting yourself in the foot...makes no sense. its 30 dollars and adds TONS of functionality and SECURITY updates...your logic is also flawed, if he wanted to force you to update he would not have posted 3.66 at all, he has no obligation to maintain that download for you...think a bit before making accusations...

Yes, BlueIris is not required to provide updates but making it easily accessible creates trust which at the end results in more business. Well, at least that is my philosophy and experience. I appreciate your help.

Trust? you have to be kidding me..its on the website! He DID NOT have to post it at all. Yet you imply that it was hidden on purpose. That is simply a stupid allegation. Since you distrust BI, move over to another vms. Let us know how that goes for you. Pray tell what other software vendors provide older versions to download? VERY few. As I indicated in response to your other post, the industry norm is 50 dollars PER camera....He doesnt need you measly 30 dollars, he is doing you a favor buy upgrading you at half price.

I did not just imply it but stated why I think the link is hard to find. There is a clear post on the forums saying that many people try to find such a link. Finally the link was posted in a sticky note. I bet many of the people who asked for it first went to the webpage and couldn't find it which is why they came to the forum. You yourself didn't provide the link when I asked about it but you just said it's in a sticky post.

No, I am not kidding about trust. Nothing goes beyond providing great customer support. Considering the price of the product I obviously don't expect to get direct support. However, providing an easy to find link to download the latest software falls into the category of not just great but expected customer support. Most companies have clear links on their websites to get the latest updates for their software/firmware/drivers on their website even for products that are 10+ years old. Providing such links would go a long way to build this trust which makes people feel more comfortable to pay for upgrades (I did so for many products. Money is spent much easier if people feel comfortable with a person/company). In your words, BlueIris is shooting itself into the foot.

You are an idiot! Really. Not only do you accuse the blue iris developer of hiding the the update despite the fact that he did not have to post the update at all, but you accuse me of INTENTIONALLY NOT PROVIDING THE LINK as if I had something to benefit. FUCK YOU.
1) this website has no association with blue iris
2) I told you where to find it, you are one lazy fuck. I dont have to waste my time copying and pasting a link for you.
3) your tiny little brain cannot come to a logical conclusion..let me try to help you again.
IF THE DEVELOPER WANTED TO FORCE YOU TO UPGRADE BY MAKING IT HARD TO FIND THE LINK TO V3 THEN WHY THE FUCK WOULD HE SIMPLY NOT MAKE IT AVAILABLE!!! This conclusively proves your allegation to be FALSE.
Most software companies DO NOT PROVIDE LINKs TO OLD SOFTWARE. He put in on the damn website. Not only v3 but v2 as well. ITS THERE. YOU FOUND IT!
You dont deserve to use blue iris. Go find another vms.
Stop talking about "spending money" when its 30 dollars. Go find a better cheaper vms and come back and let all of us know.
You have some damn nerve accusing me of hiding the update.
All you are is a cheap prick.

I have been very active in certain forums in the past and am still active in others. If a repeated issue is coming up I provide links to the relevant threads. In addition to that, I even create tutorials including screenshots. I never had any financial benefit of doing so but simply did it for the benefit of the community. As for being "one lazy fuck", I did mention in my previous post that I spent a good amount of time searching for the update but couldn't find it. When I did find it I did report back to the forum, provide a link and advised to scroll all the way down. Maybe my "tiny little brain" was not capable of finding the link right away but at least I did provide feedback that can help the community. As for updates, from my experience most companies provide updates to software (I never had an issue getting updates for my MS Windows, MS Office, Adobe Master Suit, PhaseOne, Canon and many other much less known software providers). Apparently your experience is different. Having said all of that, I appreciate you responding to my inquiry.

As @fenderman already stated ipcamtalk has nothing to do with the development of Blue Iris, there are just a lot of blue iris users here who help each other.

Blue Iris is developed by one guy not a team of hundreds or thousands of developers like all the other software you mention hardly a fair comparison.

Once again, FUCK YOU. I owe you nothing. Dont come here and tell me that I OWE you a link because your fat ass is lazy to look for it. I dont give a FUCK as to what you did on your forum. Those software companies are part of the FEW who provide links...MOST DO NOT. And again your TINY brain misses the point. YOU MADE A FALSE ACCUSATION based on bad logic. How dare you accuse someone of intentionally hiding an old version to force an upgrade when he did NOT have to post it in the first place. Your an idiot if you cannot follow that thought.
Then you further have the gall to accuse me of doing the same. What a fucking idiot.
This community does not need you help.
You are nothing but an entitled prick who thinks the world owes you something. Fuck off.
