Anyone here using Shielded RJ-45 cable instead of UTP?

I don't blame you for the cheap crimpers. I have a few of the blackbox EZ-RJpro crimpers that I get through my job. They are the best crimpers I've ever used but they are just too pricey to buy for personal use.

I understand some of the guys that have been doing this a long time don't like the ez connectors but they are just too easy to get right. I can crimp an end in less than a minute from start to finish and probably only have 1 in a couple hundred that I have to redo for some reason.

The monoprice RJ45s with inserts are almost as easy as the E-Z connectors without the price premium. I've used only about 50 of them, with 100% working connections, even when juggling the tools up on a ladder.

Yes, I'm using STP for my cams and such in my home. We also have some nasty thunderstorms numerous times per year. An induced surge can do damage from a lightning strike that occurs up to several miles away.

I just bought that in orange and it works well. Heavy, and the shipping was $30+.
