I am using BI release 4.5.1.6 x64 and BIT Release 1.1.14. I used BIT to backup my BIT and BI settings before I did a full reset on my Windows 10 PC. I have reinstalled BIT and BI to the clean machine but can't figure out how to restore my BI settings. It looks like BIT checked and automatically restored its settings. I was looking for a BIT RESTORE (BI) button but haven't found one. How then can I restore all my BI settings in the new environment? I really don't want to have to redo all that work.

Many thanks
Johnny

The Backup feature on BIT backs up all important / custom BIT data into the /backup folder of your BIT directory. You have to back that folder up, then restore the contents of it back into the root BIT directory.

Mike, I think hes having an issue trying to restore the BI settings not the BIT settings.

Looks like you're right, thanks @fenderman

@Slate2000 BIT backs up your BI settings via 1 registry file. Once you have that file, from within BI, click Options, then Import v4. reg (assuming you're using BI4) then locate that file. Blue Iris will do the rest.

Mike & Fenderman,

Yes that is the case. BIT found its backup and restored its settings. I am looking to restore my BI settings. I tried the steps Mike suggested. I found my BI file and loaded via BI. However, I get an error: "error importing registry key: 1017". I made sure I have full admin rights.

Also, when I look at the file it just has two entries for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. I don't see any entries for my cameras and BI settings.

Thanks again!
Johnny

I added a couple of cameras to the new install and looked (via regedit) at the BI options at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and there are tons of registry entries. I must have messed up my backup at the original install. Many thanks for all your efforts! I'll manually load up the cams. Good exercise as it makes me look at all the BI options. A learning experience! lol
