Mr. @Arjun, I'm sorry but this 'ole classic come to mind.....

Oompa Loompa doom-pa-dee-do, I have another puzzle for you
Oompa Loompa doom-pa-da-dee, If you are wise, you'll listen to me
Who do you blame when your kid is a brat? , Pampered and spoiled like a Siamese cat
Blaming the kids is a lie and a shame, You know exactly who's to blame

The mother and the father

Oompa Loompa doom-pa-dee-da, If you're not spoiled, then you will go far
You will live in happiness too, Like the Oompa Loompa doom-pa-dee-do

You've managed to rub EVERYONE the wrong way. See how many people respond to your questions for help? You catch more bees with honey, rather than vinegar.
After joining 3 weeks ago, you've headed down the tracks like a runaway freight train. I'm not one to talk, as I've only been here 5 days longer, but I try to be respectful to the others here trying to help. You've taken a different approach. I guess this may be attributed to your age? If not, the Willie Wonka song may apply.

Please just F****** LET IT GO. If I were Andy, I'd seriously consider NOT selling you a bucket of prop wash, let alone a camera.

Figure out how large an SD card you can mount. Not sure you'll get any more responses here. Maybe Andy will answer you!

Is the use of the microSD card required? Any downside to just storing recordings on NVR?

I am a noob and want to be sure that it fits the IPC-HDW5231R-Z
This cam barely uses any power. Any POE switch or injector will work the follows the standard listed below.

Got an update from Andy, and am very pleased with his follow-up. He concluded that I'm crazy, and he's right on his part. I'm really impressed with Andy. He is a well-composed person and took the matter in his own hands, and I look forward to a positive experience with him going-forward. I have confidence and faith in Andy. @EMPIRETECANDY :)

I sincerely apologize to anyone that may have felt I was overtaking this thread. Thanks again for everyone's input; its certainly helped me keep myself calm. :)
Cheers!

Based on the info in this thread (thanks all), I plan to order from Andy. This is my first ip cam system. Does it look complete?

  • 6-8 cameras, IPC-HDW5231R-Z, $170 each
  • 1 NVR, 5216-16P-4KS2, $360
  • 2 WD Purple HDD 4.0Tb
  • mounts, (not sure which ones, I will be mounting under flat eaves), $? included per Andy
  • 6-8 Cat6 cables, longest run about 200 ft (recommendation on where to buy?)
Best way to order from Andy/Empire is to message him here and pay via Paypal?

Seems like a lot of folks buy a box of CAT6 and make the cables to the exact length needed. Probably going to be a good bit less expensive too.

The POE built-into the NVR makes it a little more of a hassle for you to web into the cameras directly, which is required currently to setup some functions like IVS. Make sure you're good with that. Buying a separate POE switch with the money you'd save from switching to the non-POE version of that NVR is an option to work around that.

I just got some money in, and ready to order more myself. I have some other things in my cart, and debating if I want to wait and do 1 order or split in 2 when he gets more Turrets.

I have done my share of crimping connectors, I can now afford to buy prefab, since I do not have time. Have been using these cat6e cables from ebay and very happy with quality and strain reliefs. If you need small feedthru holes in your house, may want to feed cable through then crimp your own RJ45, otherwise it will be at least a 3/4" hole for the connectors w/ strain relief..

No reason not to do 2 orders. No guarantees on when you'll be able to get exactly what you want, so buy what you can now and wait on the rest. I ended up with 3 orders.
