Had some sort of "glitch" and all my cameras stopped working in BI. After playing around trying to bring them back online without success, I re-booted the router and they came back. But, the "Settings" icon (gear) in the android app is greyed out and I can't arm the cameras remotely anymore. Is there something I'm not remembering from my initial installation?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply fenderman. I checked and the user DOES have admin rights. I can't arm and disarm from my phone without that settings icon working. Seems I had to do something special to get that working before, but I can't remember :mad-new:

I just noticed I can't start or stop the program from the app either. The "Traffic Light" is also greyed out.

Also just checked my old phone (which isn't active as a phone, but the wifi still works in the house) and ALL the icons in question are working fine. :sad2:

BTW...do you play guitar?

To clarify, the user name you are using with the blue iris mobile app to log into the server has admin rights under blue iris options>users (in the server)?
If so, delete the user and add it back, see if that helps.
Yes I do.

Deleting and re-entering the user w/ admin rights worked. MANY thanks!!

I play drums in a classic rock band, The lead guitarist plays a Strat - American Standard, I believe. He also keeps a Tele on stage tuned to "drop d" (whatever that is :peaceful: ).

Thanks again.

I have a similar problem. All of a sudden the traffic ight on the BI console is grayed out to where I can only arm-disarm by using an app?
Can't think of anything that could have been changed.

Thanks

make sure the user had admin privileges.
Outstanding! That did the trick.
I am confused now about all of this though. I have had the admin set with no rights for many many weeks - couple of months maybe. Reason why is... I was testing around why the admin kept showing up. I could not figure out why they kept showing up and what they were used for.
I would delete it and it always came back. I started using the log in and log out tones and at least speculated the admin had something to do with my logging into the console.
I never, until now though gave it admin rights.
The Anonymous user... The tones for the anonymous user would sound around the same time as when I log into the console but at different than the admin tones would go off. I also gave the Anonymous user no admin rights and still has no admin rights or any other for that matter.
So, I thought and know now what the admin user does (and why it kept reappearing)
What is the Anonymous user set for - that keeps showing up?
I had also thought somebody was in my system but I am now 50% feeling better. :)

Blue iris needs the admin user to operate...if you are concerned set a strong password for it...
Dont know about anonymous...where is it showing up?

anonymous shows up with all the other users - admin and my apps
I reset passwords to anonymous and admin - in the pass with tight password. Both were set with all options blank until now I gave admin the admin rights back.

I have a similar problem: Camera Setting is greyed out.

I have three users set up and all three are Administrators. I have tried deleting the users but that made no difference. When I reboot BI it doesn't ask me which user I wish to use, and I have no idea how to switch between users.

I really need to be able to access the Camera Settings but can't seem to find a way to access it.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I just found a fix for this. It would probably fix a few other issues too:

Go to Control Panel, select BlueIris and click the Change Tab (next to the Uninstall Tab) chose the Repair option and follow the steps. Allow the repair to run. You will need to restart BI. This fixed my issue, so hope it works for you as well.
