LOL I'm not sure that typo was accidental

In a remote area people know the cops are 10-60 minutes away so an alarm/alarm sign is less of a deterrent.

Security is just a game of who wants it more.

• You vs Robber.
• You can put all your items in a vault but it may cost alot of money; do what makes sense.

Identify who you are trying to protect yourself from?

There are different types of robbers:

• Crime of opportunity - left the door open
• Smash and grab
• Planned / Organized burglar - Cut down the sign to see if some one fixed it? Wheres a mask/hoodie so know one can recognize you. (Cameras can only document and deter)

So ask yourself what is the goal of the security that you are putting up?

• Documentation? IPcam work great
• Deterrence? - lights, signs, sirens, upkeep, Fake or real IPcam

MY goal is to have the would be robber to just want to rob someone else because it looks like too much trouble than its worth. Following this with good insurance.

We do have insurance on larger items. However, we do not exactly live at this location. It was over a week before I found out about our stuff being stolen. Cams are for me to check and see if something is off, and if so make the trip out there to see.

Im sure it was planned as they did cut down our no trespassing sign and we didn't put it back up.

Seems like kind of a blanket statement...my security isn't to deter.... it is to notify and also document like u say...

Whether it me me personally, the police, or neighbors hearing siren... I wouldn't call those deterrents, the would be robber would already be committed before they find out.
