Paul, that 6mm is shocking. Good to hear you're getting it replaced with them paying shipping. Even the 12mm shows soft focus areas on the wall as you said and I can see them to a lesser extent in your driveway capture. I was expecting better optical performance as my 4MP DS-2CD2342WD-I 's (4 of them) are all very good in that area. I notice that's what you've replaced as well.
My order from a different supplier has partially shipped. I ordered a 6mm and 12mm like you, but they're unable to get the 12mm until May
. The 6mm is on it's way and I'm hoping it doesn't turn out like your example.
I've got a Dahua Starlight 2.0MP so will be able to put them side by side to compare. Do you think there's more improvement possible with adjusting the settings above? With the Starlight compared to my 4mm DS-2CD2342WD-I (both locked in colour) there is a much more noticeable difference in night performance.

(Otherwise my order will be left sitting on Aliexpress stating both cameras have been shipped and automatically time out as delivered. I don't want to risk something going wrong and the 2nd not being dispatched in around 4-5 weeks.)

Nothing so far. DHL are indicating shipping info was received on Monday and then there's been no updates since then (which seems a bit strange.)

Mine was like that, no updates for four a free days and then a flurry of updates. After that it was delivered the next day.

I have one of the new dahua starlight series but not the new hik.
But just looking at that colour night image. The dahua is a lot better. (I hope that's the defective camera lol)
Either that or your lighting is bright orange/yellow!!

I got an Email update (previous was SMS) and it's not even my delivery they've given me the number for. On DHL the delivery name and address is some other person in another state of Australia and it says it's a "Sample Of CCTV Recording DVR" ?
I've also sent 3 messages in the last two days and had absolutely no response. So at this stage I'd say it's risky buying from that supplier.
Edit: They finally got back to me- they hadn't shipped my order at all. I've now got a new tracking number that is awaiting pickup by DHL.

I would recommend this camera, the 12mm is giving me a much better night vision then the old 4MP Hik turrent, which is to be expected.
It's a shame the 6mm had the soft focus, but the Fiona has been brillient and agreed for me to return it with her paying postage, so I would recommend buying through this store.
It's a shame as I still need a 6mm to cover my drive, but not sure if Fiona would want to send another to me..
