Mines working pretty good now as well
I'm still getting the odd tracking the sky or the brick wall but in the main it's doing a decent enough job
Certainly better than the huisun I've got.
I have also found that it seems to be about contrast levels.
When the green box appears then it seems to track properly.

I'm not sure I want to lose the functionality if that's what the new firmware does.

Might be beneficial to other members if you can post your settings, this will give a guideline on where to start to get good results.

The Huisun was Pretty shit also on Auto tracking but again that was only a £200 20X PTZ
All device using experience different, you may think not good but most people think they are good, they still be a good product. That is it.

We're just trying to get help here with our issues with this PTZ, @EMPIRETECANDY. It definitely has some major tracking issues and also the new firmware isn't a succes. I send you a PM about the new software. Pls reply.

This was my question in PM:

Andy, what is this one used for? Do we need to install that one also?

Any of you guys with a huison ptz ever try to see if the dahua fits in that wall mount? Curious how generic the top of the dahua might be. I'd love to keep my ptz wall in place and just hang the dahua from it.

Not sure what this does.
I installed this one it definitely did something but I can't quite work out what

My best guess is it just updates the controls.

Well, i installed it and it changes the PTZ software. No idea yet what exactly it changes, but the PTZ software version seems to have changed.

See the before (left) and after (right) version details.

My furnace puts off steam that trips 1 of my cameras. Used to be 2 until I installed a pir. It sucks! Last night the pir worked perfect. No false alarms on that side. It picked up a opossum and our cat come through. No false triggers. Can't wait to have the rest of the pir's installed. My SD59 is setup in a group and spins to the side when the pir trips for my turret cam. Works out awesome.
Excellent. I just finished the Pole Barn install this Saturday. Have the exact setup as you do @Hound Dog 911. 6 days and 26 hours total for the entire project. Probably could have cut that down to 5 days and 22 hours but:

I had the PIR's working on the bench. When transferring to the site, I inadvertently plugged the alarm block in to the "OUTPUT" on the top row. Doh!. Lesson learned. The sensors are solid and waterproofed with silicone, even though they are not rated for outdoors. $15 each, with over 40 feet of reach when tested. They have been through multiple torrential storms since mounting.

After 30 seconds of no activity, the SD59 swings back to the driveway approach like butter. I used a time event. May switch it to 45 seconds.

I have mine set at 1 minute. Putting the 2nd pir in tomorrow morning hopefully. Just don't feel like fiddling with it this evening.

Have any of you messed with these settings? They are kind of hidden tucked away under the global setup. I just ran them to 100 for each just to see what happens.

Those settings were not there in my previous firmware and the Global IVS tab has disappeared completely in the march 2017 firmware ;-(

Adjusted and tested plenty this weekend. Drove in and out of the driveway approach at least two dozen times, with cars, trucks, bikes, and foot traffic.

I see your sensitivity is set to 8. Best results for tracking were at the default, 5. Set to 3 or less, no tracking. 8 or above, wacky tracking or none at all.

Also, a vertical intrusion box works the best for tracking, from my testing. One that captures the height of the object, not just crossing a line on the ground, like a 4 sided tripwire.

YMMV
