Has anyone purchased and tried the Hikvision DS-2CD2385FWD-I? I wanted to know if the night vision has been improved on this newer model. It's supposed to sport the Easy IP 3.0 as well with it.

Specs: Hikvision Europe

My AE contact says they can provide me a sample for about $157 shipped to the states (international model that's English updatable), which I'm thinking about doing but wanted to see if any of you guys bought one to see if it's worth it or not? I've been using a ton of the DS-2CD2335-I and love it.

Based off of the spec sheet, I wouldn't expect much of an improvement in the night vision area. You should probably get the 2 or 3 MP model if that's your primary concern.
I still would like to see some day and night shots of the DS-2CD2385FWD-I though. I think you should buy one and review it for us!

I'll probably pick one up and test it out. How should I review it? I'm not sure how to test this thing. I can upload sample pics from it probably but doing the specific adjustments that you guys do, I'm not too sure how to go about that.

Just go with the factory settings for now and then post those pictures. Also let is know if you have any backlight or street lamps in the area for the night time pictures.

I like to see comparison shots. Seeing how a 3MP compares to the 8MP would be nice.

I'll order it when I come back and post up some screenshots. I'll do day/night with it. I hope the sample price will still be the same when I get back at the end of the month.

Thanks for the reply back.

Can you post full resolution 8MP samples here? Both day and night? I might not buy it if it's having issues with firmware. I bought some 4MP hikvision a while back with that white flashing issue as well. Kinda wary about buying new models that haven't been tested. That white issue finally got resolved but took like a few months to get new FW on it.

don't buy any of the easyip3.0 8MP cameras. I have a lot of problems with them. they not ready for the market.

Hi gpower07 - can you elaborate on the issues?

Also the TV & NVR - I'm assuming that the TV is simply connected to the NVR to function as a monitor and we're not talking about a smart TV with iVMS4500 loaded onto it?

Your NVR appears to be a rebrand or clone of the Hikvision 7600/K series, but the firmware is a little old - are you able to update it?

I know the firmware is little old. but the problem is not the nvr. the camera can't keep the setting after reboot.
