And where can i find previous firmware versions for the SD59224U-HNI?
Is this where to get it? PTZ

However it says at supported models it's about some EPC230U model. Might it work also for the SD59225U-HNI? I really want to test if downgrading to an older version firmware solves some of my issues with the March 2017 version (which doesn't even zoom anymore beyond 2x when autotracking)

Or perhaps anyone who can share an older (preferably PAL) firmware?

Don't put any firmware on a cam that is not specifically listed for said cam. You risk bricking it. I've looked for older firmware for you, no luck.

Yeah, i considdered that ;-) Thanks for the warning. I won't try it if i'm not 100% sure i got the right FW.
I will ask @EMPIRETECANDY again if i can contact Dahua directly about it.

Weird dude sucking on a balloon at 0.25 am. At least 25x zoom paid off this time. Tracking of the car itself ofcourse didn't. But nevertheless it provided some funny footage ;-)

And then the police arrived (5 minutes too late):

I wonder why my PTZ doesn't go beyond 2x zoom while autotracking. Anyone suggestions? It's a new issue since I installed the march 2017 firmware and PTZ upgrade.

Here's my tracking testing, through the window. Hard to be disappointed with these results. Can clearly read plates. Just took video of Smart PSS playback. With H.265, YouTube does not like the output.

Installing this weekend outside on corner mounts.

So if I don't set up the camera to pan to preset 2 when triggered, Idle Motion works great. After I set it up to pan to that side it quits. Repeatable if I turn those settings off and on. If I missed that already covered in an earlier message, sorry.

Updated.. If I move the camera manually Idle Motion works. If it is a preset move, it doesn't want to return. Sorry for the rant.

If you have a certain position you keep the camera at full time, it may be best to give that an actual preset number- number one is what I give it on my set up (different cameras altogether than yours). Then I give that preset a timing schedule. Then I give the preset (tour for me) for motion call a certain time it's allotted as well- around 30 seconds or until movement ceases. When movement ceases , the camera will go back to preset one because it's time scheduled to be at that position.. I prefer this to idle because I've found idle to be not so dependable and also I like my camera to automatically return to preset one if the camera reboots. Something to try if all else fails.
