The firmware writes it's version number into a 0x40 byte segment at the start of mtdblock1 - and periodically re-writes that (possibly from the version value held in the sqlite3 configuration tables, but I'm not sure) if you modify it to try to circumvent the downgrade block.
But I have found that, depending on the date / version of the bootloader/update program, a downgrade works OK via the tftp method.
So that is easy enough to try.
If you check your conversations - I'll send you a link to some V5.3.0 EN/ML firmware that might just work.
Also as an experiment (I've not played much with this), @montecrypto hikpack tool has an option to change the firmware header version and date.

I've just seen hikvision released a firmware v5.4.5 compatible with my DS-2CD2132F-IWS, I'll try it and see if RTSP and WEB and ping keep alive after many hours.
this model is in the compatibility list now (in 5.4.0 document it was not in the list... the 2M pixels and 4M yes, but this 3M pixels no, don't know the reason).

I have a DS-2CD2132F-IWS (Original, no CN model) to, upgraded it to 5.4.5, and the network disconnects are back (tried 5.4 before with the same result)!
Just after a few hours, after an power cycle the errors start and the camera is not responding anymore.
The downgrade from 5.4.0 to 5.3.0 I did with the "2xx2 5.4.0 to 5.3.0 downgrader” from Enabler, but now I’m looking for the downgrader again…. Deleted the previous one!
Could somebody send me the "2xx2 5.4.0 to 5.3.0 downgrader” from Enabler?

Is the camera connected via WiFi?
If so, that may be the underlying cause of the problem. Do you have the chance to use a wired connection temporarily as an experiment to see what difference it makes?

Oh, OK. That would have been a possible fix.
How are the cables?
5.4.5 seems to be stable. Though 5.4.0 had some quirks.
Does your switch / router have any port statistics / error counts?

I suspect that it may depend on the version of the 'updater' program inside the camera, but despite the 'unrollback' feature that aims to block downgrading from 5.4.0 and higher, I was able to use the tftp updater to move up and down the versions 5.3.0 <--> 5.4.5 with no problems on several R0 cameras.
It might be worth trying.

I'm in the same boat.
DS-2CD2132F-IS (original CCWR), wired connection, 5.3.3 is rock solid. Working for months, no network errors, processes power loss just excellent.
The camera writes video to the internal micro SD and photos to external ftp.

But 5.4.0, 5.4.5, 5.4.41 is a real problem.
The camera reports "Network disconnected" every 3-5 min. and becomes completely unreachable within an hour.
Tftp downgrade is impossible, the "downgrader" works well.
I still have it, let me know where to send it if you're still interested.

ced105, Beebie, sent you a link.
I assume that you are warned about the risk.

Please, remember not to do factory reset with this firmware.
Apply the downgrader, then a normal firmware and only then do a factory reset.

After playing with the network setting, UPNP disable and dns server change my camera is stable now for a few day's.
Before the web interface of the camera stopped working after an few hours.
I see lots of "Network Disconnected" alerts in de log (every 5 to 6 min) but this is not affecting the connections to the camera.

bbsc, can you send me the link for the downgrader again, i did't receive any mail or link.

Looks like the camera with 5.4.5 cannot live without something jerking it constantly via network.

I've made a cron job for my router to ping camera's IP every minune. No network errors for several hours. No constant DHCP queries. Camera worked just fine.

Then I've removed this cron job, so the router stopped to ping camera's IP. And see constant DHCP queries and network errors again.

Ok, I've had enough experiments for the moment. Reverting to 5.3.3.
Any advices how to disable this "useful" feature of 5.4.x are much appreciated.

Went back to 5.3, the 5.4 and 5.4.5 firmwares are not stable on a 2CD2132F. Lots of network errors and after hours/day's the web interface stops working.
The camera keeps recording (On SD) but only after an reboot the web interface is working again!
