Hi, I purchased the above NVR off aliexpress and i'm not too impressed with the motion detection as it seems to trigger all the time without many configuration options.

I would like to use a PC with Blue Iris instead as I've found this to be far superior. Can I use the NVR as a PoE switch only? I've found the hard coded IP's a bit limiting but i read a thread to enable virtual hosts which I'll try.

In addition, I would like to take out the hard disk and attach it to the PC without the awful beeping the unit does without a hard disk.

Does anyone have any tips on how to do this?

Thanks.

The motion detection is all done in the cameras. They simply send a notification to the NVR.
The NVR does provide a subset of configuration options that are passed through to the cameras, the level of detail varying with the NVR firmware version, but to do the detail you need to use the web GUI of the camera.
You can access this via the NVR web GUI 'Virtual Host' facility.

Turn off the 'alarm notification' for HDD error under the Exceptions menu.
