Just a quick follow-up on these...just about hitting a year now and they are still working well (thankfully). They have survived multiple south Florida storms over the past year as well. I have not updated the firmware since the initial install and will let them go until failure or an upgrade is warranted.

I've put in a few additional Dahua bullets, but now looking to add a couple more mini dome or turrets as entryway/door cams.
Smart move by you. I updated to the latest (April, 2017) firmware, and now I can no longer send files to my FTP site. Other than that, and the fact that the camera won't use MP4 for video, it's been OK.

This AmCrest (IP 3M-954EW) I am having issues with setting its time. Here in Pacific Time, I set the time to GMT-8, but the timestamp on the camera was off by an hour. I then noticed that there's a setting for enabling DST, and the start and end dates have to be manually entered. There's also a setting for "Sync with NTP Server" which is set for "clock.isc.org" port 123, every 10 minutes. Is there a better way to assure the AmCrest time is set properly, perhaps a better NTP Server? My Unifi G3 camera uses a different time server, but it doesn't specify the port number.

UPDATE: Someone on the forum alerted me to the fact that the Unifi USG router has its own NTP server, so after setting the NTP server to the IP address of the USG, the camera's time is accurate.

I "reverted" back to the September, 2016 software, and the FTP works again. Also, the video files are now saved as MP4 rather than dav. I don't know how that happened, but it's a good thing. I'm still playing with the video detection sensitivity and threshold settings, as well as anti dither and interval. Please let me know if you find a fix for the firmware update issue. The sun shining through my trees casts a shadow on my driveway. When it's a bit windy, I get constant motion emails. If I change the settings enough to avoid this, I don't get event detection when a person walks into the zone. I also get too many event emails at night for no obvious reason. I should have bought a camera that detects a body, not just movement.

What is the difference between the IR's in this model compared to its successor, Dahua 1320? I see the newer 1320 using different style IR LED's
Is one better than the other in terms of night-time performance?
