I have 4 of the Huisun PTZ V1's and so far so good. Three of the four are out in the sunlight. One is under an eave and mostly in the shade.
WhT is the temp of your area?

Mine failed when the temp hit 98 and had direct sun on it. My other two v1's and a v2 have been fine, but one is under my deck roof (with no sun), one is facing east (morning sun) and one facing west. The one that failed was facing south, so it had the heat from the sun most of the day.

I thought I had replied but I guess it did not take. I live in Southern California and the temperature reaches into the 100's. Today it has reached 101 F. I am also running POE with CAT 6 cable.

Anyone with the "ticking " issue what I did that fixed mine was to manually move it through its boot cycle by hand. You an feel the pattern it was suppose to go. Then turn it to straight middle and two or three light bumps up until you don't hear the clicking. Takes a little time to get if just right but, after that the camera works again fine. Even works after a re-boot most of the time. Worth a try instead of a drawer I thought mine was dead now all is good. Just my second free bee is dead in a boot loop every few minutes.

Fixed the first one now the second free bee in a boot loop any thoughts ?
At some point you need to give up on these lemons...are you sure the camera is getting adequate power?

I have been extremely happy with the two 10x v1's that I purchased. One of them sits in the S Cal sun all day long since I purchased it last fall. I do not use an external splitter either

Fenderman - I am really surprised that you banned klasipca. I actually thought he was very helpfull

I thought one of the reasons this forum was started because the other forum was so pro Foscam and they would ban anyone who talked bad about Foscam

Is this what is happening here, but instead of Foscam, it is BlueIris?

I get it YOU don't like Huisun, you think they are junk and are in the same category as Foscam.... BUT a lot of people have purchased Huisun cameras and are very happy with them. I thought the forum was here to share ideas and thoughts on all IP Cameras?

See my response in your other post. It has NOTHING to do with Huisun (despite these cameras being complete garbage) or blue iris.

Thread was deleted. Care to post the response here?
He was a disrespectful asshole. That is the bottom line. He was given his own subforum for Huisun (he asked for it) and we kept it up despite these cameras being proven garbage. The allegation that he was banned because we disagreed about the cameras is nonsense.

I take it "Git" is now banned for the same reason?

yes, if you would read his posts in that thread you would see why. Some folks think they can act like jerks and I need to accept it. Well its not how it works.

In fairness you put up with it for a long time.

Longer than I would've.

Well done.

I disassembled the dead camera today. I suspect the culprit is probably the small circuit board which is connected to the 12v supply and RJ45 connections. This board also controls the PT motors.
Hi Larebear, are you able to share how you opened the camera up ? My Imporx YC-110AR also died about 6 months after purchase, running off POE.

EDIT: nevermind - I managed to get the front face plate off using a small screwdriver as a pin, which then allowed me to unscrew the face and get into the body of the camera.

I see 3 small black (capacitors?) on the board facing to the left of the camera (when looking at the camera, right side if looking in the direction the lens faces).

I put a multi-meter onto the 12v power input socket on the camera, checking for continuity (beep) and it does beep - does that mean the camera is open-circuit ?

Has anyone successfully repaired their dead mini-PTZ camera ?

I was able to 'fix' my dead v1 by placing it into a full left/right pan pattern in a continuous cycle. Speed is 100 and lengh of arc is currently full range of motion, zero delay between repeat of cycle. Has been working like that for about 3 months with no feed drops. Next is to experiment with reducing span of pan along with pan rate. Its possible, if taken to the extreme, to have a 1 step pan span with 1 speed pan rate, effectively yielding a 'slow jitter' keepalive movement. If anybody else wants to try this I'd be interested if it fixes it for you

I like this camera. Small in comparison and does the job. I just wished they would upgrade it to a low-light version.

My Huisun 10x v2 died 4 or 5 months ago (finally replaced it with a Dahua). In my case, the camera was always powered by 12 VDC (not POE). Before it's failure, the camera would sometimes lose it's capability to focus automatically, and to correct it I would remove power then apply power and all would be good for a while longer (weeks or so). The last time I did this, the camera powered up, did the pan and tilt move on startup, but I could not connect to it. I've always wondered if there is an IP board or some such thing that went on the fritz?

As the Huisun is now a door stop, I figured trying to repair it might teach me a thing or two. If anyone has any ideas about it's failure as described, I'm all ears. :)
