My Huisun 10x v2 died 4 or 5 months ago (finally replaced it with a Dahua). In my case, the camera was always powered by 12 VDC (not POE). Before it's failure, the camera would sometimes lose it's capability to focus automatically, and to correct it I would remove power then apply power and all would be good for a while longer (weeks or so). The last time I did this, the camera powered up, did the pan and tilt move on startup, but I could not connect to it. I've always wondered if there is an IP board or some such thing that went on the fritz?

As the Huisun is now a door stop, I figured trying to repair it might teach me a thing or two. If anyone has any ideas about it's failure as described, I'm all ears. :)
you need to replace the PCB board inside the camera.

Thanks for the info gpower. Any ideas on how to obtain the board? My attempts to acquire parts or help from Huisun failed miserably.

I've done a few of these, maybe 6 or 7, I forget - both over the forum and on the device itself.
None were electrical, they were firmware related, where a part of the flash memory had been overwritten such that the camera would no longer boot.
The board in question is the system board - the one with the wiring to the PT motors.

I have a spare Mini PTZ V2 system board that someone sent me as failed, which I fixed up.
If you feel competent and confident in carefully removing the board from your camera (it is fiddly, and needs some care) I could send it to you to try.
We could even do a swap and I could check out your failed one.

Wow alastair that is mighty kind of you. I will be out of town for a few days, but when I get back I'll have a look in the camera and let you know. Thanks so much for the help!

Hey alastair - Sorry for the massive delay in getting back to you.

So yesterday I pulled the failed camera out to have a look. When I picked it up, I noticed something making noise inside, which it did not do when it was new. Anyway, I shook the thing a few times, then pulled the guts out from the front of the camera to see if any loose parts were rattling around inside, there were none. I reassembled the camera and gave it another shake and realized it was the gearing mechanism I was hearing (is there a gyro in there?). I plugged the thing back in, and it came to life?

Well that is a bit odd, and a mystery.
But it does seem like it's not the system board losing the ability to boot, so no value in the board swap idea.

This particular cam also fails when it gets hot, so it's not much good anyway. Seems I have a collection of dead Chinese cameras, next I'll be looking at my failed "Poker" speed dome.

Thanks for all your help alastair.
