OK, I'll send you some instructions, on the assumption you don't have a NAS but do have a Windows PC.
Be aware there is some uncertainty - how critical is the camera to your setup?

if it will be working also the email will be great, it's enought that camera is recording (Sd or better NVR)!

Hello,
I have done several tests on my 2732 with hiktools and several firmware.
I have two 2732 which have been set with fw 5.4.5 and thanks to Alastairstevenson, they work in 5.2.5.
On the other hand after my tests one of the two remained in 5.3.0 and 192.168.1.64 and no web access language mismatch no access SSH or Telnet, I continued and managed to have 5.2.5 and without making mtd hack, She seems to have remained in English and Chinese.
Really bizarre.
I also had a CRC error at the beginning of U-Boot, I made a saveenv and the error disappeared.

Well, in the last couple of days 2 members have successfully updated their DS-2CD2732F-IS cameras from 5.2.5 all the way to 5.4.5 after some changes to mtdblock6, using the stock EN/ML firmware, not a 'hacked to EN' version.
This is using some new settings in mtdblock6.
If you want to try this out - I'll send you some instructions via 'Conversations'.

I have a couple of DS-2CD2732F-IS I would like to upgrade. One is 5.2.0 and one is 5.2.5 please let me know what needs to be done to upgrade these I have extracted the MTD5 and 6 blocks from both.

Is the second one 5.2.5 not 5.35 ?
I'd so, if you'd like to send me a zipped copy of mtdblock6 and also the output of the shell command prtHardInfo via 'Conversations' I'll modify them and send you them back.

I take it this means it did not like the 5.3.0 firmware. I loaded IPC_R0_EN_STD_5.3.0_150513

Just a quick update I have the camera back running V5.2.3 build 141024 it also ran V5.2.0 EN versions. It does not like V5.3.0.

I tried on the other camera and it has upgraded to 5.3.0 and then 5.4.5.

My chinese 2032F-I updated 5.3.0_en too, but SADP cant see it and i cant ping it. Do you solve this problem ?

Plenty of times so far.
The first thing to try is to use the 'downgrader' that is in the first post of this thread.

If you want to look at updating to the current firmware, then extract a copy of mtdblock6.
A way to do this is shown in this post : Hikvision 5.2.5 & 5.2.8 Full English (INC DAYS OF WEEK) mtd Hack
If that won't work for you, I can send instructions for use with a Windows PC.
Then the mtdblock6 can be modified and re-applied, and should be able to be updated all the way to 5.4.5

all 'downgrader's posted there stopped at 'Completed file[......\digicap.dav] transmit'
i just want to bring it back to life, even if it will be chinese (i will config it by my software)

Even with the 1-line CN header version?
That's unusual for a 5.3.0 brick problem, unless the camera has had version 5.4.0 or higher attempted, in which case the 'downgrade prohibit' would come into play.
I'll send you some instructions via 'conversations' for the 'brick-fix' tool, which would generally be used when the update to newer firmware has created a bricked camera.

Hello Alastairs again,

need your Support again with the next cam 2cd2032-i, it is the cn cam with the hacked Firmware 5.2.5, sticker on the cam Shows 5.2.8, the mtd hack is already done, now i want to update this cam also to the new Firmware 5.4.5,
if i do it, first 5.3.0, after reboot i can see my cam in SADP mit the mini Firmware (4.0.8), i can also bring my cam back with the 5.3.0 downgrader.

what i do wrong, why i can not update to the new Firmware?

Alistair, my camera which is locked to Chinese is a DS-2CD2032-I software version 5.2.5
This and my other camera are connected to a poe hub which is then connected to my tiny pc with blue iris installed.
Can this downgrade be performed with my system as it is just by changing the tiny pc IP address ? Would I need to disconnect my other camera during this procedure ?

As you are already running 5.2.5 you should be in a good position to extract the mtdblock6 , do the enhanced mtd hack, without having to mess with the PC IP address.

Ok, hopefully it's simpler than it looks in the guide

My cameras are accessed remotely via port forwarding but browsing this forum this morning indicates that this is probably not wise ?
What other method is there to view cameras when away from home network, actually it's not the cameras I'm accessing remotely but blue iris.
