Where to go for the official latest versions of Hikvision Firmware and Software?

It seems like Hikvision software and firmware is spread out all over the place with more recent versions available on some sites but not others. For example, at Hikvision USA iVMS-4200 has 2.6.1.2 as the most recent version but if I go to Hikvision Europe there is an even newer version (2.6.2.6).

There's also some firmware that I used to upgrade a couple of my cameras about 6 months ago that I can't even find anymore where I downloaded it from. I'm nearly certain it was an official site but I remember it was FTP based instead of web. The firmware updated to the cameras fine and they still work great but trying to find that particular ftp site again to see if there might be a newer version now is proving very difficult.

Isn't there a central location where hikvision posts links to all the latest software they release?

As a large global organisation they have substantial regional offices which do vary somewhat in how they do things.
Of all the Hikvision global sites I've seen (including the CN ones), the Europe Portal has the widest range of firmware with both HTTP and FTP methods for download. DOWNLOAD PORTAL

Perhaps the EU Portal is what you were looking for.

I think that is the one that I thought was an FTP site. It has that kind of look.

A Hikvision dealer recommended that I visit this site for the latest downloads.

This site had downloads that the US dealer didn't have yet.
