hi there,
I've just had a local security company who specialises in Dahua kit, install ITC237-PU1A-IRHL at mine. So far the camera works as expected, it reads all number plates fine and without error. I was just wondering if there is a way to get the web view feed to display on a screen so I can have live view of the number plates being read. I know I could just connect a computer to a TV and have it display the web browser feed but was hoping for a better solution. (I want the feed where it shows a snapshot of the last plate read as well as the number plate record, not the continuous video feed) Hope it all makes sense.
Thanks

To do this, you need a special program for recognizing LPR. For example, I use SecurOS Auto. It recognizes the LPR of 60 countries of the world.

Thanks,
Do you think any mere mortal could figure out how to install and use it, (unlike the other OpenALPR programs and such which require custom code discussed in other threads for DIY LPR that is outside of my skill set)?

SecurOS:

Yes. The instructions can be easily adjusted.
I can still advise the program Avtomarshal intuitively understandable interface and it is very convenient to make fine-tuning for different situations. But while they have a limited set of patterns of license plates of countries. I use it even at home, automatically opens the gate after recognizing the number :)
If you need I can put a 15 day demo version.

I have a spare hdw5321r-z and a sd29204S.
While they may not be optimal, would the software work with these cameras?
Is this software somethi g that loads onto the camera itself or run from a computer? If it needs to be loaded to the camera, how is that done?
And is there free demo evaluation copy to try it out?
Thanks.

That software runs on a computer.

The new Dahua camera I mentioned above I believe has the software integrated.

This is all software for the computer. These programs can use any camera to recognize car numbers.

I like it more, it can be configured to work with any camera and the accuracy of recognition will be up to 95%. The price for a license depends on the speed of the traffic flow. Speed of cars up to 30 km / hour, 1 channel of recognition - 660 $ for one camera. speed of cars up to 150 km / hour, 1 channel of recognition - 1100 $

I would imagine the accuracy rate wold be much more dependent on and vary quite a lot between the camera model, lens and settings.
I'm curious to try it out but just viewing clips with my default settings I assume it would go without saying if my eyes cannot see a licence plate on the video then a recognition software would not be able to identify it either.
Are there any particular recommended optimal standard settings?

That price makes it a bit hard to swallow for 1 camera for private personal use when the Dahua cameras with the LPR recognition built in can sometimes be had for about the same price or less.
Just googled and found a wide range of prices but for example CCTV mall shoes $385 for the

For optimal tuning, you can record the video passage of the car from your camera in the program to indicate it as a source and calmly adjust the recognition on it. Then just change the source to your camera and everything will be fine.

Thanks for all the detail!

P.S. I was just in Russia a few weeks ago, (St. Petersberg) for 2 days on a cruise ship stop.
Beautiful city.

Now we must visit Moscow. :) Russia is a big and beautiful country and we do not eat tourists
No problem. I've been using this program for a long time so I'll tell you if it's not clear.

My camera, the 5321 turret, is not optimal for LPR but all I have. But I will try the software on it soon anyway just to see.

It would be great if another forum member with a more appropriate camera would try it out.

A visit to Moscow would be great too. Only so much vacation time and money though.
The people in St. Petersburg were welcoming and our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable.
