Started out with a QSee in 2009. 480 TVL., I thought I was the SXxT! Moved up to swan 83425 with swan pro-746, 1/3″ Sony ‘Effio’ CCD Resolution: 700 TVL Pixels:976 x 494.
Now I'm looking to move to an 8 channel TVI DVR with true 1080p 30fps on every channel with 2mp cams. I need some advice on where to aquier DVr, Hdd & cams. Maybe a TVI-DVR that I can use with old cams until I can afford new ones. Just a poor apprentice(IBEW).
Help please.

Welcome 1radjon,

Note the folks here are specialized with IP cameras, and thus we're more likely to encourage you to not get a TVI system but to get a system which uses IP PoE.

Please check out @giomania 's notes:
Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I have also made which are a summary of a lot of the reading I've been doing here,:
Looking for some advice and direction!

Thank You

Dahua makes Tribrid and XDVR's that allow you to run both old analog as you have, as well as the newer HD cameras well as IP cameras. Dahua's version of TVI (HD) is called CVI. Very similar in that they are both HD analog. The image quality and features rival IP cameras but are a bit cheaper generally and of course more simple to install for us non-techie types. Many folks equate "analog" to old tech cctv systems, but they're anything but nowadays.

I have both IP and CVI systems and from a pure image quality standpoint, it would be hard to tell a difference. Dahua CVI, and I believe HIK's TVI, both come in 2-5MP and Dahua even has 4K 8MP CVI cams out now as well as Starlight versions just like their IP cams.

While there are some advantages to IP systems, for your application, much like mine a few years ago, being able to run a mix of either/both isnt such a bad idea. You can now run all on Cat5/6 and no need to think in terms of old analog coax.
