I have 3 generic "no brand" IP 720p cameras + 4 old kguard analogue VGA cameras.
I am searching for a budget NVR (if possible hybrid to be able to still use my old analogue) for 24/7 recording.
No motion detection required but just a reliable budget NVR with a good UI for fast video playback.

We have one of the first dahua hybrid dvrs in our office that we were using for testing, but there is no reason to test analog cameras or PTZs anymore. Its probably about 3-4 years old and is an enterpise 2U unit that has room for 16 channels analog and 16 channels IP for a total of 32 channels. It probably cost us $700 when it was new.

I got this one for my father so he could use his existing analog cameras and still add some IP cameras. It's set for 4 analog (4mp) and 4 ip (4mp) cameras. Right now he has two 1080 analog cameras, one wifi 1080 IP camera and one Dahua 4mp zoom camera. It has been running since the beginning of the year.

When people come here and say "I want cheap" 99% of the time they come back and B* about the crappy hardware they bought off AE... What did you expect?!?

This is like going to dinner and telling the waitress "Send me out the crappiest meal the chef can throw together" then once the meal comes out saying "This sucks, I want to speak to the manager, I'm not paying for this S*"

This is SECURITY folks - "Cheap" shouldn't ever be in the conversation...

less than $100

but I don't know the market prices ... so if the prices are higher to get a reliable budget NVR, let me know and recommend me some models.
A 2TB HDD is $60 on sale... so I don't see how you can keep the price point that low

When I hear the word budget i cringe. However this might be something to look into.

Do you know if the dahua NVR can support all brands of cameras or will it work with dahua cameras only?

If the cameras are ONVIF standard then the Dahua NVRs can do the basics. For the more advanced features the recommendation is to pair the brand of cameras with the proper make/model and brand of NVR to increase the utilization of more advanced features. ( Dahua IVS for example )

I have 4 old VGA analogue cameras and 2 720p IPs cameras. I don't plan using 1080p anyway as these cameras will be used mainly to monitor a small to medium store

I bought a DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR and a DS-2DE3304W-DE camera on aliexpress. The delivery time was good (less than 2 weeks) and the product was what I ordered. Unfortunately, I am now having a problem with camera and the seller I dealt with is providing NO AFTER SALES SUPPORT. I tried contacting Hikvision first regarding the problem I am having with the camera (the backup config feature does not work). Hikvision told me they do not support their products unless they are purchased from an authorized distributer and that I should contact the seller. I documented the problem and sent a message to the seller, Eagle Vision Security (contact Eleven Ye) and they do not respond to my messages. I have asked them 5 times over the past 32 days to please respond to my message - and I get NO RESPONSE. So this is a warning to all users thinking of buying cctv equipment from Eagle Vision Security - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER. After the sale has been made they basically wash their hands and you no longer exist to them. Luckily my order with them was small and I will be placing my main order with another seller.

the problem I am having with the camera (the backup config feature does not work).
In what way does this not work? The save appears to work but you can't find it?
Are you accessing the camera via the Virtual Host?

If you are using IE11 and trying to save to somewhere on your Windows drive, Windows will not trust IE11 enough to save to the location you apparently selected, and saves it instead to a virtualised location that is by default hidden and transient.
To get round this Windows security restriction, you could add the camera IP address to IE11's list of Trusted Sites.
But as an experiment, try running IE11 as Administrator and save the configuration file.

Here the problem:

I have a DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR and a DS-2DE3304W-DE PTZ IP camera. When I do an IP Camera export from the local NVR monitor to save my config information, a .xls file is generated. When I open this excel spreadsheet on my PC all I see are the following two lines:

Device Type DS-7608NI-E2/8P Language Type(Chinese:2,Other:1) 1
IP Camera No IP Camera Address Protocol Management Port Channel No User Name Admin Password Transfer Protocol

Where is the configuration information for the IP camera? Am I missing something?
If I try to import these settings my active configuration gets wiped out.
I suspect there may be a firmware issue.
My Firmware:
DS-7608NI-E2/8P v3.4.92 build 170228
DS-2DE3304W-DE v5.4.8 build 170210
thx
see attached config file
