Hello. Yesterday my DS-2CD2032F-IW suddenly went offline. Last seconds before going offline, red date and time info became white in video feed.

Today I get the camera from outside, direct connected via LAN to the modem but not listed in wired clients. I resetted it and tried to connect via wi-fi WPS, it's connected. So RJ45 input is not working, what can I do?

Did the link detect light on the router/modem show, and was there any activity after power on?
The best way to determine if the camera is still showing any life is with SADP.

Check the connector with a magnifying glass for corrosion.
How well were the cable joints sealed?

Does your network allow the camera to be accessible from the internet?

Thank you. No any activity with RJ45 outport. No listed wired client in modem interface. It has wi-fi. I paired it with the modem via WPS button. It showned up in the network again. Everything works fine except RJ45 input. But Wi-fi isn't enough to use it properly. I want RJ-45 port back.

It wasn't sealed well, it was protected by a box but cover of the box is missing like 2 months. Do you think it's just rain?

My camera was accesible from internet, now it's resetted.

From what you've described, pretty likely, especially if it was powered via PoE. 48v DC will corrode conductors rapidly given even a small chance, causing shorts and opens.
Have a good look under strong light and a magnifying glass to see if you can spot anything.
If so - the cable end will need to be replaced.

I don't have PoE, it's always running via DC adapter. I hope cable replacement helps :( Thank you.

I was referring to the camera pigtail - is that what you mean? - as you'd already taken the camera down and therefore eliminated the fixed cable.
I have done such a replacement - on a 'spares or repairs' 2332 I bought at low cost on eBay, not too bad to do if you are used to electronics and soldering, but fiddly otherwise.

As it hasn't had a PoE connection, electrolytic corrosion won't be a feature, there is no DC on an ethernet connection, but maybe some normal corrosion has taken place and giving the terminals a gentle scrape might help.

Hey Cossie - I found your post while looking for the same problem you describe. I have the same camera and it exhibited the exact same thing before failing. It detected motion, displayed the last captured video (I use BI) and at the end of the capture the date/time appeared. The odd thing is, I have the cameras' date/time function deselected and it appeared during the end of it's last capture. Now the thing is dead and I'm into troubleshooting too. Mine died on 9/19/17 at 7:15PM Pacific time.
