I have access to a very limited supply of decommissioned dell optiplex machines. All machines have 8GB Ram and win7 pro licenses but obviously hard drives have been removed for security purposes. I have a few different models:

9010 towers- core i5-4570 CPU, 8GB ram, Win 7 pro license.
9010 SFF - core i5-3xxx series, 8GB ram, win7 pro license with some ingenuity a 3.5" drive could be installed workably just not optimally.
Optiplex 990 - core i5-2500 CPU, 8GB Ram, win7 pro license.

Just trying to provide a reasonable option for those who understand what I am offering. I could probably just ship the board/chip/ram from the SFF if someone has a chassis, perhaps I can test fit one in a 980/990 tower I have. I believe I have 5 9010, 4 SFF and a dozen or so 990. pricing something like $125/$100/$75 down the list +actual shipping (UPS) if anyone is interested.

I also have some HP equipment. pavilion 6300 SFF with core i5 3xxx, 8GB, Win7 which have space under the DVD drive for a modified 3.5" hdd install. Proliant gen7 and gen8 gear but that is sort of going into another realm.

I have some older 24 port dell powerconnect switches and cisco catalyst poe switches. These would be strictly 802.3af.

message me if you want to work something out. I'm just a dude

Just following up to this, I still have a few. I may be interested in trades, anything ip cam or surveillance related

Yes I have some 9010 I need to get them out to verify they do in fact have i5-4570 and not i5-3570. Apparently last contract there was a transition period from 9010 to 9020 that saw some 9010 outfitted with the 3570.

Can't you just run a secure wipe and not have to take out the hard drives? There are a ton of easy ways to do it, from simple zero-everything to out-of-this-world-paranoid (dozens of passes filling the disk with random data).

8 Tools to Wipe a Hard Drive Before Selling or Lending It • Raymond.CC

I know it takes a couple hours, but surely it is worth doing in order to have a complete system to sell.

policy states drives must be physically destroyed, end of story. I'm not really looking to "sell" a complete system. I'm thinking there is a guy like me out there that can handle putting an ssd in and loading it up. People who need a built machine also need support and warranty, for that I recommend dell outlet. If someone on here knows what this is and wants to trade a cam or two for a machine or 3 then here they are.

Fair enough. People who don't understand technology setting technology policies are always wasting money.

The policy is there because if you leave the drive in, there is always a possibility that someone fails to perform a proper wipe or forget to wipe one system.....this can lead to sensitive data being exposed....

True. Especially if you are recycling machines in large numbers, I can see how it is more fool-proof to remove the disks. It is easy to verify it has been done correctly.

Time as well, drives are cheaper than the time it takes to secure erase. As far as turning machines over the guys re-image and re-use but for systems that are decommissioned this is the policy. I don't want the mechanical drives anyway, they are getting SSD one way or another so it just makes it lighter to carry out...

I have some 9010 but I need to check the actual cpu model, I don't want to hose anyone.

Hint: Especially if you are low balling the work by outsourcing to the lowest bidder who hires contractors and pay a fixed amount to decommission equipment. ( you will not believe the stuff I have seen... )
