Can't seem to figure this one out for some reason.

One of the newer BI Updates states:
  • A new option on the Schedule tab in camera properties "Camera is only active when viewed remotely or full screen" can be used (in conjunction with un-checking the box Continue to display and stream video) to close the camera stream completely when not required for webcasting.
Sounds simple enough, however I've tried overriding the global schedule and modifying pretty much everything inside the schedule screen, but I can't seem to get the inactive camera to "wake" via viewing it using the web viewer or app.

Almost everything I do in BI is simply using Profile 1 default schedule without any modifications, since any install I do I'm just recording 24/7 w/ motion alerts and whatnot, but I figured this new feature may actually be a HUGE benefit to some remote gear with limited bandwidth etc.

@fenderman Thanks for testing! Did you have to set up scheduling any different than default? In addition to playing with everything inside that scheduling screen, I thought it maybe had something to do with what cameras (groups) were pulled up locally on the BI server and any web playback, but changing those to not show the "inactive" camera seem to also not do anything. The only way I can get the camera to be inactive is if I override schedule and change the bars to remove any active time. From there the camera is "inactive" but the checkbox to make active when viewing it will not trigger any of the cameras I've tested. If I leave the schedule to stay on (default) and have the checkmark on active only when viewing, the camera remains active regardless of being viewed or not (as seen by camera/system status screen)

I tested it on my test laptop using the integrated webcam...no schedules are set..in my test I had the blue iris set to hide inactive cameras...at that point when inactive it disappears from the display. As soon as I log in via the mobile app, it comes back on within two or three seconds.
To clarify, is your issue the the camera doesnt wake from inactive status and therefore does not display in both the mobile app and server? or that it stays active and doesnt disappear?

Good points to clarify: The cameras don't want to wake from inactive status. A moment ago I thought I got one of them to wake, but then they stayed active which was kind of a bummer since I'd like them to sleep again. A few minutes ago during one test I saw that some of them were still giving me feeds, yet displayed as inactive in the Blue Iris Status screen.

I only tested with two cameras, one of which I made inactive...it may be a glitch when trying with multiple cams...
