RAM/ROM size? What to look before jumping to buy a best quality camera?

Why the ROM sizes are different in same mp cameras? If the lens is different does it make any relation to ROM size?

Hi Sunny,

Is there a particular reason you want to get a dome version?

For kitchen & living room area I think dome is the best option but i’m still in learning stage so I decided to learn as much as possible before buying my cameras.

That sensor is huge! 1/1.9"
Over 1/2" large. Many cams use 1/3" sensors.
Maybe that contributes to cost....

What is the benefit of bigger sensor? And the ROM is double than most of the cameras

Hi Sunny, The 8xxx series of camera are more capable of compute than the 5xxx series and thus one reason why you are seeing larger ROM and perhaps RAM numbers.

You can probably save some money by getting a 5xxx version of the starlight for indoors.

It will have larger "pixels" on the chip, so better capable of capturing light that hits the chip than of a smaller chip with equal amount of pixels.
It would need a better lens also, and with the added compute power the costs add up.

Progresive scan means that the image is scanned line by line from top to bottom. It's the opposite to interlaced, where the image consist of two fields - odd one and even one. In case of interalced, you get a comb effect. Anyway.. nothing to worry about ;)

yeah, there is a bit of glare. Didn't really notice it until I started looking for it... kinda hard to tell what's glare vs. a reflection or some external light source.
Just added the photo at the top where you can see some at the bottom area. There's a shadow because part of the illuminator is blocked by the camera body being at such a low angle.
