I have been running Blue Iris for over two years without issues. I ran into memory leak / CPU issues when I upgraded my computer recently. It's resolved now and running stable for more than a week. I know it's hard to sort through all the threads so I am quoting own experience again that I posted on the other thread. I can confirm this process worked with 4.6.4.8 and 4.6.5 full download files.

I can confirm no memory leak or CPU issues with 4.6.5 on NUC6i7KYK.

I upgraded to NUC6i7KYK recently and immediately ran into memory leak and high CPU issues. Windows installed 22.20.16.4749 graphics driver by default which was obviously broken.

Later I tried latest graphics driver 23.20.16.4849 which was no good either. Finally settled on 21.20.16.4664 following some people's advice here and it's been stable since then. This forum was a tremendous help in troubleshooting the issues.

Here are the steps that worked for me:

1) Uninstall BI, reboot
2) Install 21.20.16.4664, reboot
3) Install BI 4.6.5, reboot

10 x Hikvision cameras at a total 32 megapixels @ 15 fps. The CPU has been stable at 20% for the pas couple of days.

I followed this guide to disable future graphics driver updates..

How to Prevent Windows from Automatically Updating Specific Drivers
Few things to note here ...

Graphics driver 21.20.16.4664 did not work for me when I installed it while BI is running in the background as a service. You need to uninstall BI and then install the graphics driver followed by full download version of BI. Preferably reboot after each step (not sure if rebooting is necessary). Do not install any more BI update files.

Windows auto update will keep trying to install newer graphics drivers. There's a link in my quote above on how to disable specific driver updates.

Also make sure to disable BI auto updates.

Well since I couldn't make any progress backing out software/drivers, I decided to see if I could tackle it from the hardware side. Reviewed my box and found all memory installed in bank 1. No bueno as that basically kills my GPU/acceleration performance. Even though performance was fine before, this is not configured right so I fixed it. Decided I'd go ahead and upgrade the memory at the same time, so I'm now running 8GB split over both banks.

This greatly improved performance and I'm now sitting at 30% idle 57% during playback. This back to "normal" for my machine. Current BI version is 4.6.5.2 and graphics driver is Intel Generic at 15.4x. We'll see if this holds.

So the problem is definitely related to the display driver.
I disabled my Intel HD Graphic display adapter and the problem went away.
Now I do not have the Intel graphics though. This really sucks...

Also, contacting their support is useless unless you pay for the service.

Search here for memory leak. Many threads about it.
.4664 version is the one most report success. Stop the Bi program or service before updating vid driver. And if Windows "fixed it" for you, you can roll back to the working version.

Yep I too have a system that the CPU rises to 100% after a while. Sense I just built a dedicated BI server (i7-7700k/the works) and spent a lot of money I'm a little bummed I have to so anything to make it work right. I''m sure Ken (I say his name like I know him...) is working on this.

Its an driver issue that he has no control over...if you feel its a blue iris issue, you should email support and see what he says..hoping that others email support results in nothing getting done...I can tell you that I have two systems right now running the latest BI versions with no issues..the others are running older versions with no issues as well.

And I can also confirm two systems with no issues after rolling back drivers some time ago.

I'm running Blue Iris 4.6.5.2 on an i7-6700 Win10 Pro (1709) system using the 23.20.16.4849 Intel HD Video drivers and all is well.

I will try this video driver on my I7-7700 than as well, with the 4664 driver I am still not lucky.
Ram goes to 10-11 Gb after about 14-16 hours.

My BI system: 4.6.5.2, i7-6700 3.4 GHz, 8GB. WIN10, ~60 Mbps load, Intel HD Graphics 530 with driver v. 21, cpu usage is less than 20%. Thanks.

Nope , with the 23.20.16.4849 driver it is even worse , after 2 hours , from 4Gb to 8GB RAM usage :(.

So does anyone know what is happening here ? Why a certain driver will work for some and not the next ? I have no issues with mine but I am using a older I5 3rd gen with a Intel 4000 adapter....kind of glad at this point. Is this issue related to the brand of motherboard or what type of cameras ?? I see so many conflicting posts that it is hard to pin point it.

Very good question. And I am wondering the same.
I think we can narrow it down to the gen 7 cpu's . With my I5 , gen5 I had no issues.

Correct, and it appears to have affected a lot of users after updating BI here these last few months. Yet I have read where some users have done clean installs and revert back to earlier BI version and problem still exists. I am wondering if it's the way you have BI configured that compounds the problem.

@Tinman :

In the meantime I have tried all available video drivers I can was able to download.
Just now I reverted back to Blue iris version 4.6.3.0 That version is working fine for me.

Even It it was my setup , it doesn't make sense. Blue iris starts at ca 4 GB RAM and in the following hours it goes to 10-11 GB (for Blue iris). Can that be a setup issue? When I run version 4.6.3.0 the RAM stays at 4.07 GB, for me something changed in BI which my computer can not handle now.

I made a brand new install of windows 10 about 5 months ago and it is a dedicated Blue iris computer.

What I meant to say was that one setup can have something enabled that is causing the leak and another setup might not be using the same options so they are not having the issue. I do think sometime around when the "limit decoding unless required" option was introduced, some people were having issues then. If you can make 4.6.3 work for you, that is what I would run until this gets sorted out.

I have been discussing the graphics driver with Intel support. I just received this message (see the end of the thread). Can others try this latest driver?

I have been running it for a little while and the CPU usage is higher than the .4664 version, but it seems somewhat stable so far.

I tried that driver today , but no luck. After several hours the RAM peaks to 10-11Gb in my system , where it should be around 4GB.
Also the 4664 only works with blue iris version 4.6.3.0 , when I upgrade to the latest version , even with intel driver 4664 , my RAM goed sky high after several hours.

Okay. Thanks for posting Cor. Also, to everyone who has the issue, please also post to the Intel forum in my previous post. Now that we have their attention, hopefully it can be fixed!

I have installed the latest graphics driver 21.20.16.4860 (released 11-Dec-17) and latest BI version 4.5.6.2. After a day of monitoring it's also working fine.

This driver seems to be meant for 6th gen Skylake processors. But it might also work with other CPUs.
