I have 1 camera recording continuously, I have it set to cut the video every hour. Nearly every recording will start on the first second of each hour but lately I've had a few start on the last second of the previous hour.

For example:
Recording 1 starts at 11:00pm with a duration of 59m59s
Recording 2 starts at 11:59:59pm and records an hour.. therefore also recording on the wrong date. (Since it should've started at 12am)
Is there anything I can do to prevent this? When it does this at 12am that recording is inaccessible from the mobile app so it's an actual issue and not just an annoyance.

why is the recording inaccessible? are you recording to BVR format?

Thanks for the quick response.

It's only inaccessible in the mobile app, and I believe it's a bug. I can see the 11:00pm recording but not the one that started at 11:59:59 on the same date, and since it should've started at 12am I checked the next date and it's not there either.

When logged into the admin console on the machine I can see it and access it.

Yes I am recording in BVR and direct to disk.

Do you recommend breaking up videos like this or leaving them on the default settings? I only ask because mine are on the defaults and work fine, but when trying to find a part of a video on an 12 hour recording in the timeline seems a bit trickier to fast forward and rewind while searching. I was thinking about breaking them like the OP is doing, but curious if there are any side effects.

Sorry for the hyjack! But kinda related.
That's why I do it, so I can quickly get to any alerts and fast forward and rewind easily. Like I said, usually this works great.

I completely agree, that's why I resorted to posting here. I couldn't find anything even on the "all-knowing" google. I have emailed support before for another issue in the past with no response, I bought the unlimited license so I figured I'd at least get some support. Maybe I'll give them another try..

Is your support license still active?

ensure you email support from a standard email address like gmail and use the email support now button in the about tab.
Correction... I went to go email support and found my previous email to them sitting in my outbox.. It never sent.. So there's not a problem with Blue Iris Support, just wanted to make it known.

I have too continuous recording cut every one hour and have about 25% of my clip recordings showing as either starting one second before the hour or having a duration of 59 minutes and 59 seconds. However, my recordings are accessible from the mobile app. The time stamp on the recordings that is displayed in a box to the right of the playback controls when playing clips on the console however does show the recordings starting and stopping correctly on the hour. Likewise, the time stamp on clip recordings played on the mobile app has the clip starting and stopping on the hour. In Windows Explorer all my clip files have a Date (and time) right on the hour. I have no idea why there are these discrepancies but they do not seem to be causing me any issues.
