I've updated the DashRunner application that was originally designed for automation using Amazon Dash buttons.
You can now trigger commands or a series of commands using voice commands with Google Home or Amazon Echo.
This includes controlling Blue Iris profiles, pauses, traffic light, etc. (It uses IFTTT in conjunction with PushBullet to perform the process.)

If you are a current DashRunner user, just restart and click 'Update Available'. If you are new to DashRunner, feel free to download at DashRunner - Free Automation with Amazon Dash Buttons, Echo and Google Home - Home (It's free)

It's nice being able to say "Hey Google, I'm leaving the house now" and have BI, lights, temperature, etc. all set automagically.

Anyone know what happened to this?
Links are dead. Forum is still out there, but nothing for a while now.

Sorry about that. I've been taking a development break due to life getting in the way and all.
Here's a link to the installer for the latest version:
dashrunnersetup.exe
Let me know if you have any issues.

Hey Kent, glad the app is still under development. I've been playing around with it, some very cool features.

I am also trying to get the following sequence working. Am I correct in assuming this is not something DashRunner can do right now? I realize it's not button related but your app is one of the few that connects IFTTT and BI.

Alarm set email -> IFTTT -> Blue Iris camera arming

Thanks for the hard work on the app.

Sorry for the delay on the response. Here is a way to do it.
Basically you are having IFTTT put a file in a DropBox folder and Dashrunner intercepting the file that IFTTT creates. (If email X is received, then create a file in DropBox containing content Y)
Then in DashRunner:
1) Create a new File Watcher trigger.
2) Triggered by: FileWatch
3) Path to watch, browse to the dropbox folder that IFTTT saves files to.
4) Put in some sort of keyword that IFTTT is using as text to put in the file that is being saved to Dropbox.
5) From there add whatever BI activity you want as a trigger when a file matching this is created on your system.

Essentially the email will trigger IFTTT to create a file in a DropBox folder, DashRunner will see that and do it's actions from there.

Thanks Kent. That seems to work to arm it. I will write a second trigger for the disarm,

Have you thought about a direct IFTTT integration rather than Filewatch? Is that even possible?

I have considered it, but since this is a *very* part-time (free) project that I've developed and IFTTT is all cloud based, having local interaction to applications that are not really cloud based may be a bit tricky. Currently it's a bit of a hack, but it works with minimal effort. Also despite being having a very loyal following, BI has a pretty limited audience.

Dashrunner is working really well for me. Now my cameras arm and disarm automatically with my alarm system. Thanks again for the great app Kent, I hope development continues.

Now if I could only solve the slow IFTTT Gmail trigger I would be set! :)

I'm really interested in this, and have just installed Dashrunner to check it out. I'd like to use IFTTT to change my BI profile.
I've managed to connect Dashrunner to my BI server, but I don't know how to configure IFTTT in Dashrunner. Specfically, what do I need to enter in the IFTTT maker, Event and Value fields?

I took a different approach. My IFTTT recipe creates named files in Dropbox, and Dashrunner file watcher detects those and drives the local actions with BI (which in my case is just arm/disarm). It works great.

Dashrunner still works fine for me, but the slowness in IFTTT isn't helping, their Gmail trigger can take up to ten minutes.

Kent, any plans for further development so I could drive Dashrunner directly from IFTTT? Would you consider open sourcing it?

Or is anyone aware of an alternative that works with Zapier?

Unfortunately the author, site and download have vanished. I think the project is dead.
