Each sunrise and sunset my cameras motion alarms trigger like crazy when the IR lights for my camera turn on and off. When you have 16 cameras it can get a bit wild and annoying especially when your cameras cycle the IR on and off several times when the light is just enough for IR off or ON and the camera isn't sure which one to stick with. The lighting area is huge so decreasing the sensitivity via object size doesn't seem to do the trick.
Any other tips & tricks I should try?

Understood, I'm using that search bar a bit harder this time. I also realized that some cameras didn't have object detection setup so giving that a try in the meantime.

use external software to manually switch based on actual sunrise and sunset times

Interesting, gonna have to read into this a bit more.

For tonight I simply setup objection detection with 150 pixels (Using 4mp cameras) and setup zone crossing to see how they play in the morning with the IR lights like to cycle on and off 20 times during dawn lol.

Don't use Object detection it's not for that purpose and 150 pixels is so tiny, roughly 0,004% of 4MP. If you increase object detection you will loose positive alerts.

You can try "Object size exceeds"

From BI help:

Use the Object size exceeds setting to reset the motion detector when very large objects are detected. This will help to prevent false positive triggering in the event of scene or major lighting changes.
